Edmonton Normal Students Visit Camrose School
Two buses left the Edmonton Normal school for Camrose
recently when eighty Edmonton students spent a very pleasant day.
A reception committee consisting of the Misses Marion Ogilvie, Hilda Omond,
Margaret McLaggan, Billie Ulmer, Betty McKillican and Messrs. Jack Inglis, Wm.
Lehman, Stan Perka, Don Johnstone and Bud Scollan, welcomed the travellers.
In the girls' game of soft ball the Camrose girls were victorious with a score
of 21 to 11. The boys did not play their scheduled soft ball game, but in the
baseball game the Edmonton boys won with the score of 7 to 6. The referees were
Mr. Hardy and Dr. Malmos.
Following the game a banquet was held in the Hotel Alice for the players of
both schools and as many more as the hotel could accommodate. Mr. Graham Ford,
president of Camrose Students' union, called on the first speaker, Mr.
Haverstock, principal of the Camrose school. After welcoming the visitors from
the city he congratulated both schools on their success in organizing these
inter-school activities and showed the benefits of these.
Mr. G. S. Lord, principal of Edmonton Normal school, thanked the
Camrosians for all they had done to make the visit so pleasant. Mr. H. E.
Balfour expressed his appreciation and said that this visiting back and forth
was one of the delightful features of the year. Mr. Ford seconded Mr.
Haverstock's welcome and called on Hedley Abbott, who, on behalf of the
students of Edmonton, thanked the Students' Union of Camrose.
