FAVORITE BOOKS

Christmas in the Big House, Christmas in the Quarters
by Patricia C. McKissack and Frederick L. McKissak.
Contains a wealth of historical information that described in suprising detail the lives of slaves, songs, recipes and more. It is presented as a children's book, but I think adults should enjoy this well-written and beautifully illustrated piece.
