BREIF BIO
Golden Monix was born to father George Monix and mother Mary Jones Monix in the town of Dunleith, Washington county, MS (1906). The family migrated East (circa 1916) and settled in the town of Duncan, Bolivar county, MS. Golden (age 23) married Carrie Lee Crowder in 1929. The two resided in Duncan and worked as sharecroppers on the land of "RT" Tibbs in Hushpuckana, just south of Duncan. Golden ("Daddy Gold") and Carrie ("Big Momma") raised several children. Golden Monix passed away in the city of Cleveland, Bolivar county, MS on June 1987.
