Geometry 101 for Landmen
To find the length of a diagonal, use the Pythagorean Theorum:
Area of a Rectangle = length x width:
Area of a Triangle = 1/2 the base x altitude:
Area of a Trapezoid = 1/2 Altitude(base 1 + base 2):
Area of an Equilateral Triangle =
Area of a Parallelogram = base x altitude
Area of a Rhombus = 1/2 (d1 x d2)
Comparing Equivalent Triangles = If two triangles have equal bases and equal altitudes, then their areas are equal
(pi) = 3.1415926...
Area of a Circle = pi x radius squared = r2
