Anchorage Borough Volunteers
Would you like to help? We need you!

Here are some ideas of ways that you can help:

  • Do you have any Local History books that you would be willing to use for an occasional lookup request?
  • Would you be willing to post obituaries from your local Anchorage area newspaper on the GenConnect boards?
  • Would you be willing to transcribe local cemeteries or photograph local historical buildings?
  • Do you have any old photos of Anchorage people that we could post here?
  • Do you visit the local library occasionally? If so, could you do a lookup while you are there?
  • Do you have access to some other historical records, such as wills, diaries, census returns, etc. that you would be willing to transcribe?
  • Do you have any old Alaska maps that you could scan in and send in for posting?
  • Do you have any old Anchorage Borough yearbooks you would be willing to index or do a lookup in?
  • If you do research in Anchorage Borough or in any Alaska Archives for a fee, let me know. I will post that in the appropriate area also.
  • Background material - it would be nice to have a few people who live in the Anchorage area to be able to answer a background question from time to time.
  • Other ideas? Please share them!
