Transcribed from original diaries held in the Alaska Historical Collections, these are the first thirteen of 47 diaries recording the life and career of Alaska's first District Judge. Included are his attempt to scale Mount McKinley and other adventures described in his 1938 book Old Yukon : Tales-Trails-and Trials.
