MCMANUS posted by Barbara Roesch on Monday, April 20, 1998

Am searching the McMANUS family living in/near Jacksonville, AL (Calhoun Co) in 1888. Head of household may be one of several males: "B" (b1835) "U" b1837 "Richmond" b1849 "Hugh" b 1852 or "Doctor" b 1856. These men are brothers. In 1888 another brother, Robert Charles McMANUS, M.D., b1857 and wife, Hattie and daus Bessie were living there. Because this time frame is between censuses I have not been able to locate them. Will be most grateful for any assistance. Barbara Roesch

LIPSEY -- I am in search of any information pertaining to Redding M. (b. 1801, NC), Elizabeth LIPSEY (b. 1810, NC), and their family. They lived in present day Calhoun Co., AL--then called Benton--circa 1840. At that time the family would have had these children: Francis, Priscilla, Redding, Jr., and Lemuel. By the 1840 Census there could be an older brother to Francis, as well. Could this have been Samuel Ricketson LIPSEY -- a Texas Ranger in the 1850 Census of Goliad Co., TX??? By 1850 Redding & Elizabeth had settled in Little River Co., AR. Any information on this lineage is very much appreciated. Thank you!
