Walter Thomas BRYANT (b.1881 Coosa Co.) was left at age two, by his father, Stephen Franklin (Dock) BRYANT, upon the death of Walter's mother, in a home or orphanage in the Anniston area of Calhoun Co..He always referred to it as being an Episcopal home.He lived there until he was sixteen years old. He received a better than average education, was well cared for and was trained in all the good manners of the day. I would like very much to know about the facility. Thank you for any information about orphanage facilities at that time in Calhoun Co..

Seeking information on Jefferson Edmond HUGHEY,who moved to calhoun co in 1841/1842,he was orginally from Abbyeville SC. Jefferson Edmond HUGHEY married Sophia Caroline BOOZER in SC and with one child Barbara Elizabeth HUGHEY b 1838,he packed up his family and settled in Calhoun Co AL.where he purchased some land, He was well know with the family BOWMANS, BLACKBURNS, BOOZERS and SELBYs, who also moved to Calhoun/Benton CO AL...He stayed in AL until 1861 when he packed up and moved again to Grimes co Tx...Would appreciate any information on any of these names..Thank you
