GRIFFIN and MEHARG and FIELDS ancestry- -Any additional information on the following family members mentioned would be much appreciated. I would especially love to see any will records, land records, etc. for any of the family members. I am doing genealogical research for family of Richard GRIFFIN and Mary MEHARG GRIFFIN. They were married on April 13, 1837 in Calhoun (Benton) County. They remained in Calhoun County for at least 25 years and perhaps the remainder of their lives. Richard GRIFFIN originates from SC and his wife Mary MEHARG GRIFFIN originates from NC. According to census records, their household included Mary E. MEHARG, Darcus E. GRIFFIN, Richard S. GRIFFIN, Henry M. GRIFFIN, Sarah A. GRIFFIN, Andrew GRIFFIN, another Mary MEHARG GRIFFIN, and George GRIFFIN. My husband's family is descended from Richard S. (Samuel) GRIFFIN, their oldest son. He was born on June 9, 1840, in Calhoun County. Richard Samuel GRIFFIN's first marriage took place in Calhoun County on July 29, 1861, to Eliza F. N. SANDERS. He later married Parilee FIELDS in Pickens Co., AL (March 26, 1893) after which they moved to Lowndes County, Mississippi, where he resided until his death in 1918. I have some more information, but I have almost no information on Richard's father, Benjamin GRIFFIN and mother Mary MEHARG. I also know almost nothing about Parilee FIELDS family except that she was born in AL. I only know what I found on the census records. Can you help me. If so, I would much appreciate it.

Looking for the gravesite of David Allen CAREY (CARY) a Civil War Veteran, member of Co. H, 10th AL infantry. I believe he lived to at least 1878 in Calhoun Co., but died before 1887. He married Rebecca ANDREWS MORGAN who remarried to Lee CAMERON after David's death and moved to Harrsison Co., Texas shortly thereafter. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My grandmother was born April 5, 1914 in Calhoun Co., to Mary KING. Grandmother's birth name was Hattie May KING. On April 28, 1914 she was adopted by Henry REID and her name was changed to Dorothy Christine REID. She was raised by Henry and Emma REID and lived mostly in Chattanooga, TN. Henry and Emma raised no other children. Wondered if there might be information on Mary KING. My family has copies of adoption papers signed April 28, 1914, Probate Court, by Judge Rowan and witnessed by J.H. Hall and Charles S. Leyden.

Children: William Strait, born 1862, died 1863; Clyde, born 1865, died 1868 (places unknown); Mary Eliza, born Dec 8, 1868, Arkansas; Laura Dolly, born Jan 14, 1870, probably Jackson Co., for sure Arkansas; Alice/Alace, born 1873, TX; and Beulah/Bula, born 1876, Ladonia, TX. Am also curious about CAMPBELL, Thomas & Archibald, found living near John in 1870, Jackson Co., ARK.

My Gr Gr Grandmother Elizabeth Melinda REYNOLDS ROBERTS was married in Benton Co. 6 Jul 1846...seeking info on her father; Thomas/Tomas REYNOLDS, as to burial site and date of death..mother: Martha FERGUSON or PURGESON or PERRY (?) REYNOLDS...her date of death and burial site... My GrGR Grandmother married Rev. Michael Brown ROBERTS, they had 19 children (2 infant deaths,and a dau. Martha died age 11, 1859) scattered from Benton Co., Randolph Co. and Marion Co, AL....most of the ROBERTS family migrated to Johnson Co., Alvarado, TX by 1869...a lot of the REYNOLDS family stayed in AL....I also have a Cullen and Jane REYNOLDS, may be brother to Thomas REYNOLDS....and a Martha PERRY....Drop me a note if any of the above is familiar..

Looking for information on Thomas RICHARDSON, b. Sep 28, 1817 in S.C., married a cousin Louisa Susan RICHARDSON in Benton (now Calhoun) Co. Nov 4, 1848. They had 8 children, the oldest George W. Richardson. I am specifically looking to find out where they came from in S. Carolina, when they arrived in Benton/Calhoun Co. and when they left Calhoun Co. for Bell Co. Texas.

Around 1800, I am looking for Esther Mandy MORGAN that Married William USSREY, their son Philip USSREY that married Harriet ALEXANDER and also Nancy NARROWBACK. They later migrated to AR, With family members William USSREY and George and Morgan USSREY around 1835 or so. Would like to know the parents of each of the individuals. WALDEN: Looking for information on William G WALDEN Born c1838 in Warren County, Georgia. William and wife Annie moved to Anniston, Alabama shortly before 1880. William died by 1897. Children were: Leona Gray Walden, George E Walden living in Oklahoma in 1936, Walter P Walden living in Shrevport, La in 1936, Mercer Walden died before 1936, Moody C Walden living in Aniston, Alabama in 1936 and Bob L Walden living in Fernandale, Alabama in 1936. Looking for a Victoria Rachel or Rachel Victoria MCCURDY, MCCARLEY or MCKERLEY , etc. who was born in Calhoun Co. in 1860 or 1861 --she married a James SHAW and they lived for awhile in Cherokee Co. where they had children before moving to Texas. Any help would be much appreciated!!

I would like to get in touch with everyone who is researching ALLEN in Benton/Calhoun Co., AL before 1870. I have been working on all of them in an attempt to find the previous residence of My Isaac ALLEN and wife Milly. They appear on the 1840 and 1850 census. I know the previous location for two of the ALLEN families, but not the location in South Carolina for Isaac ALLEN. One of Isaac's daughters married a MUCKLEROY, one married a McBEE, and another married a WELLS. They moved to Cherokee Co., TX in time for the 1860 census.

Looking for information on Walter Lee FALLON who lived near Anniston during the 1880s. Married a girl named Caldonia who died in childbirth early October 1885. My grandmother Callie was born on October 2, 1885 resulting in her mother's death. Callie was raised by a MORRIS family in this area and later married William David BENETT in or near Carroll County, Ga.
