I am looking for information about the family of Milton and Susan PINSON CHITWOOD. They had at least three children: Matilda Alice b. 1878, Nancy b. 1861 and Lutine. Nancy married James Henry HUMPHRIES. They lived in the Anniston area.

I am researching the children of Silas and Elizabeth (ETHRIDGE) HIGGINS who were born in Gwinnett Co., Georgia and moved with their own families to Calhoun Co., GA ca 1885. The children that moved include Isaac Gilmore and Rebecca (EWING) HIGGINS; Samuel Berry and Willie (EWING) HIGGINS; Joshua and Lucinda (HIGGINS) KNIGHT; Marion H. and Charity Louisa (HIGGINS) ROBERTSON; James Silas and Ida Jane (EDWARDS) HIGGINS; Robert Lee HIGGINS; Moses and Melvina (HIGGINS) DRUMMOND. During the early 1900's the families lived in Eastaboga and Polkville, many descendants live in the area today.

Appreciate any help on William Marion RICHEY (RICHIE) born in Alabama, March, 1827. He died near Clay, La. was married to Nancy MCCAREY born, 1829. She died near Clay, La in 1899. I think he is descendant of James RICHEY, Sr. married to Rachel? and James RICHEY, Jr, born 1808 married Mary A LASSETOR born 1809. 1860 Calhoun County Census listed part of family of James Richey, Sr.

I have been told that my ggg grandfather, Henry Garner BOGGS, was buried at Monroe Cemetery in Oxford, Calhoun Co. Is there a Monroe Cemetery in Oxford and is there a tombstone for him. He died in 1863 and was from Pickens Co., SC. Thanks.

Searching for WHITED family in Benton area in 1830's and 1840's. Ancestor is James T. WHITED, with possible close relatives of Berry G. and John S. WHITED. Also in area around the same time was his father in law, George GLOVER. James WHITED later settled in Blount County, Alabama but no further information has been found on Berry and John.

Naomi HUBBARD, b.1849,AL, d. 1890 Hopkins Co.,TX, married William Stoecome Nelson SMITH (born 1842 in Caswell Co.NC) in early 1870's in Calhoun Co. AL. He was the son of Joseph SMITH, b. 1803,Caswell Co.,NC, d. 1870, Hopkins Co. TX and Celia PARKS, b. 1808, Caswell Co. NC, d. 1878 in Hopkins Co.,TX, who came to Calhoun County in 1845 from Caswell Co., NC. Naomi HUBBARD and William S.N. SMITH had their first child, Francis Naomi SMITH, 1873, Calhoun Co., AL, before following the Joseph SMITH family to Hopkins Co., TX. Their only other child, Charlie Nelson SMITH, b. 1881, in Hopkins Co., TX. Anyone with HUBBARD information which might apply to my Naomi, please reply.

Hello I am looking for my great-g grandfather William EASTERLING as well as Francis Marion BURGESS and his wife Caroline (Williams sister). I have been told that both families were in Calhoun Co. in 1850 according to the Census and that Francis and Caroline were there in 1860 as well. Am looking for information on the death/burrial of Willis and Abigail (DUNCAN) CHAMPION who died Oct and Sep 1840 (respectively). They had three other children who died around the same time frame; Willis B. in Sep, James Estil in Oct and William in Dec 1840. Trying to find out if there was an epidemic or something around that time in Benton (Calhoun) Co. to cause this many deaths in one family. Any help would be appreciated.

I am searching for the death date and place for Wood MORELAND and his wife Sarah HEATH MORELAND. They were listed in the 1850 Benton/Calhoun Co census but were not found in the 1860 census. In 1850 Wood MORELAND was 80 years old and his wife Sarah MORELAND was 70 years old. I would also like to know the names of their children. My ancestor is Rebecca MORELAND b.1801 who married Henry CHILDERS in Jasper Co GA but they also moved to Calhoun Co AL. They also had sons Bradford and Berry MORELAND among others. Is there a book of cemetery listings for Calhoun Co Al? Any information on this family would be appreciated.

I am looking for any information on a Martin B. HUMPHFREYS OR HUMPHFUS he was born in Benton County Ala. on June 6 1848. He is listed on the Census thur 1860 as Humphreys (We Believe). This is my GG Grandfather We know he came from Ala. but the story is that he left Alabama and changed his name to HUMPHFUS He married a Rachael C. PARSON from Jefferson Co., Ala. They were married in Limestone Co., Texas and lived there the rest of their lives. Because of the name change I am having a hard time finding any trails that gives us any written evidence of him or his parents. Any information would be appreciated.
