BLEDSOE posted by H. Paul Bledsoe on Monday, March 1, 1999

My great-great grandfather was John R. BLEDSOE, who lived in Benton/Calhoun County beginning between 1830-1840 and ending sometime between 1860-1870, when he and his wife Nancy moved to Talladega County. I have been told that John was a Justice of the Peace between 1856 and 1860 and have found him listed in marriage records as the JP who performed the ceremony. Would there be any records of John R. BLEDSOE concerning his duties as JP or maybe even a document with his signature? I live in Madison County, but work full time Monday - Friday, so I cannot go to the courthouse in Anniston any time soon. Any help would be appreciated. I am perfectly willing to pay any fees, etc. Sincerely, Paul Bledsoe 2701 Bronte Circle Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763

I need to know Love's parents names, where he buried, and anything else about this family. The date of his death may indicate that he died in the battle of New Hope Church near Dallas, GA. Your time is appreciated. - Thanks, Carolyn
