PINSON, Clara Lee, born about 1916 in Anniston, Alabama. Brother William PINSON, sisters Ella PINSON and Mary Lou PINSON. Clara married Horace FINLEY, had a daughter, Mary. Clara remarried Henry DUBAS, had a daughter Diana. Father of Clara, possibly Jim PINSON, mother, possibly Emma HALL. That's all the info that I have, looking for more to help my sister-in-law, Diana Dubas DeBry.

Would like to have information of a William T. TURNER b. ca 1820 in Benton/Calhoun Co. AL. m. Cyntha HAYWOOD b. ca 1825 GA. Their Children were: William Thomas, George William, Elijah C., John L., Sara, Ella, and Elisha Thora. This family moved to Pontotoc Co., MS and William and Cyntha are buried in a cemetery in Randolp, MS. William was to have gone to school in Chulafinee, AL and to have fought in the 22nd AL in the Civil War. I have not been able to confirm any of this information. I have found the family on the 1850 Benton and 1860 Calhoun Co. Census, however wife's names are Sarah and Lucinda. Thank you, Debbie

9-9-99 Looking for information for the following: Residence was White Plains, Alabama, Calhoun County. My Grandfather on my fathers side: William Jefferson SMITH married: Mary PENDERGRASS (Maybe from: Tennessee). Had four sons: William Terry SMITH (My Father), Gordon Howard SMITH (uncle), James Houston SMITH (uncle)
Question: My Great Grandfather came from either North Carolina or Virginia, and owned a plantation there prior to the civil war. I haven't found information that can be confirmed, just hand me down stories. Apparently, two former slaves followed my Great Grandfather to Alabama.(John and Sarah SAMPLES) My Grandmother, Mary PENDERGRASS was related I think to Emma SANSOM, of Gadsden, Alabama. I am searching for information on a Louisa CHEEK who married Zachary Taylor GRUBBS from Calhoun County around 1887. She had 2 sons when they married by the names of Thomas Henry and Charlie CHEEK. She died on 7 May 1907 and is buried at Harmony Baptist Church. Believe DOLLAR to be her maiden name. Information would greatly be appreciated.

I am trying to find some information out about my fathers family. My fathers name was Ralph "D" DINGLER. I believe he was born in Anniston Alabama on March 21, 1928. He died on April 14, 1992 in Anniston alabama. His parents were Casper "D" DINGLER and Maggie DINGLER. He had one sister named Betty DINGLER later married James HILL and a step-sister named J'nell MAULTBE and she married Zeb WHITWORTH. Bells....looking for information on the family of James Walton BELL who moved to the area of Anniston in Calhoun cty around the 1880's. His Son John R. BELL stayed in the area and is said to have owned a wood yard . A grandson, Charles Spurgeon BELL lived and died in the Anniston area.

I am researching the family of James Andrew SIMPSON. He was b abt 1815 in NC and d abt 1890 in Piedmont, Calhoun Co., AL James married three time. 1st to Nancy CARMICHAEL in 1841 2nd to Eliza ELLISON in 1847 in Carroll Co., GA and 3rd to Nancy Jane INGRAM in 1852. He was living in Paulding Co., GA in 1860, but move to Calhoun Co., AL after the CW. His children that lived and married were:

Rockzina Parazane SIMPSON m WATSON;
Millie SIMPSON m McGATHY;
Mozouria SIMPSON m DUGGAR;

There were other children that were born, but did not survive to adulthood. I would like to know if anyone is researching this family. I would like to share/exchange info. My family line is:

HONEYCUTT,PHILLIPS,RODDAM,PRUITT,BRITT,WILKERSON --- I am trying to locate anyone researching these surnames. James HONEYCUTT married a Sallie PHILLIPS and had at least two children that I know of. George HONEYCUTT born in 1855 married Sarah Elizabeth RODDAM. Her parents were John Alex RODDAM and Mary BRITT, Mary Britt's parents were Henry BRITT and a Mary WILKERSON.
