I am looking for information on my g-g-grandparents, Jesse Jenkins PEOPLES and Mary Jordon SHORES married December 29, 1880, in Clay County, Alabama. Jesse and Mary lived on Gurnee Avenue in Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama from approximately 1900 until their deaths in 1933 (Jesse) and 1923 (Mary). Both are buried in Edgemont Cemetery. After the death of Mary, Jesse married Maude ___________ and they had 2 daughters: Helen and Mary Milow. Have no other information on Maude or the children. Jesse was suppose to have been on the police force in Anniston. According to her obituary, Mary was an active member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church and her funeral arrangements were made by Bagley and Stanley. I am researching several lines in Calhoun County. P.D. WHITE married to Jane unknown, parents to Jerusha and Martin C. WHITE. Jerusha married John "Dave" MORGAN. Their daughter Lula Ophelia (called "Diner" by her) husband, John Stanley POSEY. John Stanley POSEY's parents were Samuel J. POSEY and Ellen STANLEY. Other children besides John were Agatha, Lonnie, Laura to name a few. Ellen STANLEY's dad was John, mother either Nobey or Nodey unknown. Also in my lines are Malachi (Mack), Phillip Jacob and Nancy Jane PONDER. Charles, Rolley and "Bill" (real name Lester Barlow) NEEDHAM. If any of these surnames ring a bell, please contact me. I have pretty good lines but am missing a lot too! Thanks!!!!!

I am looking for information on Mary EVANS who lived in Calhoun County around 1900. She is shown on the 1900 Census living with William EVANS -- presumably her son. Mary was the second wife of Walter R. EVANS of Tallapoosa/Macon County. Walter died in 1899. Mary is listed in the Civil War Widow's Pension files as the surviving spouse of Walter, and her address is given as Calhoun County. I would appreciate any information that could help me link any EVANS descendants in Calhoun County with the family of Walter EVANS of Tallapoosa County.

ROBERTS, COHELEY, COFFIA, JENKINS --- I am looking for the parents of Nathan R. ROBERTS m. Frances COHELEY ROBERTS. They had nine children: Henry, Edward, Charles Melvin, Vadar Quincey, John, Jess, May, Lawrence, and Inez. Inez married William Henry COFFIA. His parents were Joseph Cevere COFFIA and Georgia Lussie COFFIA. I am looking for information on their parents also. An Alfred SPENCER married a Harriet GORE Dec 24, 1854 in Calhoun Co, AL. Does anyone know anything about this Alfred SPENCER? My g-grandfather was born 1834 in AL Don't know who he married first, but he had a son, William, b.abt 1856 in Ark.. Then, he married Elizabeth KELL in Dent Co. MO, 1866 and they had my grandfather. Children listed in the census were James (age 7), Martha (age 4), John (age 3) and Jane (age 2 months). Madison's age listed as 29 - Jane's age is listed as 25.
