Searching for info on any HEATON families. They were living in Calhoun (Benton) County 1840-1860's. Also searching for info on any descendants of George TAYLOR, Isaac TAYLOR, Casper TAYLOR, William TAYLOR, Harris TAYLOR, Mary "Polly" TAYLOR OR Catherine TAYLOR. Especially interested in the children of Casper TAYLOR and his wife, Dicey Unknown. Casper & Dicey TAYLOR'S children were: Lucinda L. TAYLOR who married James B. All in Benton County, 1844-1850: Seeking descendants of or researchers of David HARDIN b. 1803 SC, m. Jane b. 1809 SC; J.B. HARDIN, b. 1802 SC m. "F" b. 1820 SC; and Reuben HARDIN, landowner in 1844, age unknown. These people may be brothers to John, Aaron B., Asa A., and Avery, who settled in Bluffton, southern Cherokee Co. about 1840. I am looking for the parents and siblings of James T. GAINES . He was born near Heflin , Ala. in 1836 / 1840 . He and three brothers fought in the Civil War of which his three brothers died in the war. One died at Fort Delaware . He later married Elizabeth Frances STEWART CHANDLER. She had had two children from her first marriage to James Berry CHANDLER. They were married in Louisiana in Feb. 1867. They had one child. Also any more information other than above would be most appreciated.

Looking for info to trace my WOOD line further back. I have William Hampton WOOD married to Frances M. LANE in Hall, Georgia. Their children, born in Cross Plains, Benton County Alabama are: Joel Gilmore, John Wesley, William Hampton, James O., Nancy C., Green, Sarah, Benjamin F. and Francis Marion. William Hampton was born about 1806 in South Carolina. Most of the children, born between 1829-1850, went on to Jonesboro, Arkansas to live.

Any information on Teague RAY and family would be appreciated. Teague was born c. 1845 and lived in Piedmont. Anyway, he and his wife had some 16 children, the oldest of whom was Margaret RAY, who later married William Jefferson VAUGHN -- who was killed in sawmill accident near Piedmont in 1910. Teague RAY is the patriarch of our family, but I need more info on him, and where he is buried. Anything would be appreciated

Jonathon (John) F. STANLEY b) 1835 in SC, d) April 5, 1887 in Piedmont, AL, married to Rhoda ROUNTREE on Jul 30, 1854. Rhoda born 1834 in SC and died Oct 21, 1901 in Piedmont, Calhoun Co., AL. Their children include:
1. Mintona E. STANLEY born Sept 26, 1855 died Oct 29, 1862
2. Ellen STANLEY born Dec 10, 1859 in AL died Dec 1, 1927 in Piedmont, AL married to Samuel J. POSEY on Jan 24, 1880. Samuel born April 13, 1859 in GA.
3. Mary F. STANLEY born April 19, 1862 in AL died Dec 20, 1940
4. Laura STANLEY born abt 1866 in AL
5. Alice STANLEY bor Dec 11, 1868 in Piedmont, AL died Jan 15, 1950 in Piedmont married to Oscar W. HOWELL who was born Feb 5, 1877 and died Jan 15, 1940.
6. Willie Stanley who married L. Houston DAVIS.
7. John B. STANLEY born Oct 2, 1875 died Oct 2, 1875 in Piedmont, AL.

SASNETT, Ben Franklin: Looking for any info or relatives to Ben Franklin SASNETT. He was born 10/12/1883 in Coosa Co. Al, and died 12/19/1957 in Calhoun Co. Al. It is believed that he was married several times. I have been unable to locate any marriage records for him. His father was Richard Warren P. SASNETT, mother is believed to be Martha A. DUTTON.

Does anyone know of a sawmill accident that occured in 1900 in or near the town of Anniston? Family lore says my g-g- grandfather, Frank RORK, died in such an accident. Although his family (wife, children and parents) all lived acorss the state line in Haralson County, GA, I supposed he could have found work in Alabama..... Any info would be greatly appreciated!
