Searching for the location of Rabbittown, AL. Found a listing for Rabbittown Baptist (Cemetary) but still don't know where to find it. Had some anscesters named DE FREESE (William, Elijah) and GRIFFIN (Annie, William, Oswell) who came to Louisiana from Rabbittown. Also, Elijah returned to Alabama (don't know where they lived upon the return) and died within a year, his wife Annie and children returning to Louisiana. Would love to find out where Elijah is buried.

It contains depositions that were made in the case of George WHITMIRE vs Robert DOWDY that are very important to my research. Seek information on Pleasant D. CRUMP (son of Charles CRUMP and Agnes VERNON of Elbert Co., GA) who was born ca. 1803 in NC; later lived in Elbert Co., GA., married there and was widowed. He moved to Calhoun Co., AL. and is known to have purchased land in Calhoun in 1833. He is believed to have remarried in AL and died - possibly in Calhoun Co. Does anyone have any information on him - wife, children, etc.? Thanks.

Seeking information on Oliver J. SCARBORUGH b. October 4, 1862. Possible connection to Lemuel SCARBOROUGH b 1801 and moved to Benton County, Alabama. Lemuel d. 1830 near White Plains, Calhoun County, AL. Oliver died in 1862 in Drew County AR. He married Rebecca BULL in Arkansas. They had several children. McCULLERS, James Dudley b. Dallas Co. AL on 13 July 1860. He was the son of F. Moses McCULLOUGH and Pamelia McGRAW. James married Emma Virginia MOUNT, daughter of Benjamin MOUNT and Mary Arden CRANKFIELD-HEIFNER. James and Emma had 20 children, and raised 11 to adulthood. The names of those 11 are: Jason,James Frank, Carl Dudley, Annie Arden, Euna, Emma Virginia, Fred Lewis, May Geneva, Paul Dudley, Myrtle Gertrude, Ruth Clara. I would like to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of this family. I would especially like to know more about Pamelia McGRAW, and who she married, after the death of F. Moses McCULLOUGH. I am trying to locate information on my great-grandfather's family. His name was Joseph Richard YOUNGBLOOD. He was born in Calhoun County on November 21, 1856. His father was William L. YOUNGBLOOD. William L. YOUNGBLOOD supposedly, a Confederate soldier, supposedly died at Chattanooga during the war. William L.YOUNGBLOOD'S wife, name unknown, remarried and moved to Texas with her three sons, Joseph Richard, Jim, and Greene. A family bible has been lost and I can find no information concerning WILLIAM L. YOUNGBLOOD and his family up the tree. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Don Youngblood

I am looking for information about my g-g-grandfather. His name is William GORE and was prob born in SC on 15 December 1781. He married Dorcas CROCKER abt 1799 and they had about 11 children: Joshua, James, Sarah, Mary, Caleb, Sisannah, William, Reubin, John, Rhoda and Joseph. In the 1830's, he and his clan migrated to Calhoun County, AL. Records show that William Bought land in Benton Co. He died in Calhoun Co in 1864 and Dorcas died there in 1874.They are both buried in a grave at the Mt Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Jacksonville, AL. Can someone out there help me?? I am stuck on my research in Calhoun Co. Thanks!

Am researching the following families from Calhoun Co.: TEDDER, OWENS, MCEACHERN, NUNNALLY, HEARD, BAKER. Some parts of these families moved on into Winston Co around the 1890s-1910. Also am interested in any information on an area called Kemps Creek listed on the 1860 Census. Some of the MCEACHERNS and OWENS are buried at Antioch Cemetery near the GA/AL state line. Looking for family connection to Levi KEELING born in TN in 1824. He married MaryAnn MCHENRY and moved with his family to Spring Valley, MO in Shannon Co. where he was killed during the Civil War. Migration shows Keelings in Calhoun County.
