MARTIN * * I am looking for information on the family of Murdock MARTIN. Born in SC wife's name is Mary. Her grave is in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Calhoun County, Alabama. The family came from SC to Dale County, Alabama then Calhoun County. Any information would be most helpful.

Milton PATTERSON b. 1826 in NC. d. Jan 05, 1894 in Calhoun County Alabama. Milton married Eliza MARTIN Dec 20 , 1860 . Their children are : John M. and Lucy Jane. Eliza died on April 04, 1870 and is buried in Crooks cemetery. Milton married Ann J. MARTIN , Dec. 13, 1876 in Calhoun County. Their children are: Robert E. , Samuel Houston, Anna Bell, Mary Emma, Henry Grady, and Charley Ross PATTERSON. We would very much like to connect with family that perhaps knows who Milton PATTERSON'S parents and siblings are. Thanks.

SOUTHERN,SMITH -- I am looking for information on a John SOUTHEREN (6 years old) (1874) and Samuel SOUTHEREN (3 years old) (1877) who are listed as step-sons to George W. SMITH on the 1880 Alabama Census in Calhoun County. The census states John was born in Illinois and his father in VA. and mother in Ohio. Samuel was born in KY. Their mother is listed as Mary (age 22). Any information on this SOUTHEREN family would be greatly appreciated. Trying to find a John SOUTHERN who lived in neighboring Etowah County in the 1890s and hope this John may be the same.

Looking for info on Patrick C. DEMPSEY, he moved from Gordon County GA to Calhoun, County Alabama after the 1870 Gordon County Census. His wife's name was Martha A. his children were Marion, Mary A., William A., Elizabeth C., Patrick C., Nancy A., Thomas Nathan, and John Porter. Patrick C. DEMPSEY is the son of Porter and Charlotte DEMPSEY and the Grandson of Moses and Olley DEMPSEY of Orangeburge SC.

I'm searching for marriage records of Mahala WALKER. Mahala was born about in 1817 in Tennessee. She married Hugh CARMICHAEL around 1833 or 1834 in Calhoun County. Hugh was born on 10/5/1809 in Tennessee but moved to Calhoun County around 1831 and became a schoolteacher. He later became a minister in Chambers County around 1851 and the couple relocated at that time. Thanks.

Looking for any information on a John W. MCDOWELL who lived in Calhoun Co., Alabama. Found him with family on the 1860 Calhoun Co., census. Wife: Eliza. LINER (LINOR, LYNER, LANIER), P.A. (Philip Anderson) sp E. (Emaline) are listed in the 1850 Benton (now Calhoun) County Ala.. ages shown are P.A. was 21 E. 27 with child B.M. (Believed to be D.M. = Daniel Marion) 11/12 months. Seeking relatives - siblings as well as parents - of this couple. Any information will be appreciated. I believe they are shown in St. Clair County Ala in 1860 then moved to Hopkins County, Texas and were here in 1870... Not here in 1880...seeking their location at that time. I do have information on this family that I will be glad to share.

Looking for the WRIGHT family. Joseph E. WRIGHT was born in Louisville, KY and moved to Jacksonville, Calhoun, Alabama. He had at least two sons, James William WRIGHT and R. B. WRIGHT. James William WRIGHT moved to Mississippi. R.B. WRIGHT lived in the Jacksonville/Anniston area and married Callie PINKERTON. R. B. died in Anniston about 1930. All information is appreciated.
