LEWISHON, PHILIPSON, PHILLIPSON posted by Phoebe Nix on Thursday, January 18, 2001

PHILIPSON/PHILLIPSON My maternal grandmother told me that her grandmother(?) was named Tina (LEWISHON spelling not known for sure) PHILIPSON. Our family had a Louis, Julius and Samuel PHILIPSON who lived and worked in Birmingham, AL in 1889. (19th between 2nd and 3rd Ave.) The Ancestry.com Alabama Death Index for 1908 to 1959 lists the death of a Tena PHILLIPSON in Calhoun County in Dec 1937. I have not yet sent away for the information. I hope that someone reading this may have some info to indicate this may be a match before I pay out $20 for something that may not be a match. I will also post this for Jefferson County and Etowah County because I found a Louis PHILIPSON died in Etowah County June 11, 1949 and Julius died in November 1935 in Jefferson County. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

BEARD, MILLER, PETERSON posted by Roger Ward on Sunday, January 28, 2001

Helping a friend in Calhoun County research, a couple of questions:
1. When her ancestor William Franklin BEARD died in Texas in 1942, he left 3 brothers Lester, J. M., and Henry of Woodward, Alabama.....I believe this was the Woodward in Calhoun County, but can't locate it on a map..1895 Atlas says it was on the Railroad, but did not have a post office. Anyone know the site of Woodward, Calhoun County?
2. His wife was Rosa Marsleet MILLER, daughter of Xerxes MILLER and Elizabeth PETERSON,
please contact me if you have interest in this group. Thanks, ROger Ward Lubbock, Texas
