Searching for family with surnames ADKINS,CHAMPION coming from Frank ADKINS who married Gladys CHAMPION from Jackson County and Calhoun County. Frank died in 1963 and Gladys died in 1984. Together they had Robert, Frankie. Betty Jo, Harvey, Maryjo and Walter ADKINS . Gladys later married Joe COLEMAN and they had one daughter named Joann. I think they resided to Hamilton County, Tn. Looking for information on John JENNINGS age 17 (b: c1843) SC, who was living with Wm. CLOW age 47 NC, in 1860 Calhoun Co., Alexandria. I believe this is my 3rd great grandfather John H. JENNINGS b: c1842 SC or GA (Walker Co). In 1850 John H.N. JENNINGS age 7 GA was in the household of his father Hiram W. JENNINGS. Can't find Hiram or his wife Sarah before or after 1850. John enlisted in the 19th AL Infantry, Company H., in 1862, Centre, AL. Other JENNINGS in the 19th, Co H were: JJ JENNINGS and W.H. JENNINGS. Next find John H. JENNINGS in 1880 Hamilton Co., Chattanooga, TN. Thanks! Nicole

Giles PETTIT lived for a time in Peak's Hill, Benton Co. He was in the Civil War. I have seen that he was in the 19th Alabama Infantry but I cannot find any conformation of that in the Company rosters. Does anyone know which unit he was in. Thanks.

In the same home is Elizabeth PITTS, 27, F, born in TN, Catherine SMITH, 26, F, born in TN, Lucinda J. SMITH,20, born in TN, Enoch SMITH, 19, farmer, born in TN, Margarett SMITH, 16, born in TN, John L. SMITH, 16, farmer, born in TN, Harvey PITTS, 6, born in AL, and William J.P. PITTS, 3, born in AL. I am trying to determine a relationship between Philip J. SMITH and Nancy A. SMITH. Nancy A. SMITH, born in TN, married Malachi PONDER and was my 3rd great grandmother.
