How to Volunteer
How to submit
a survey
If you need
a look-up
If you own Cemetery Books or have personal cemetery surveys that you have done and would like to do look-ups, the easiest way to volunteer is to click on the word "Volunteer" on the Home page and e-mail the information to Rhonda Smith and Roni Vickers.
The information needed is the name
of the Cemetery Book, The County that it covers and your name and e-mail
address.
If it is a personal survey that
you have compiled, then we need the Name of the Cemetery, The county and
your name and e-mail address.
If the personal survey is already
online, then provide the URL (location) and we will seek permission to
link to the survey.
If the survey is not online, you
may submit it by e-mail to Rhonda
Smith and Roni Vickers. You can use any of the following formats:
Microsoft Word; Word Perfect; Note Pad or Word Pad.
Before using other formats, please
contact Rhonda
Smith and Roni Vickers.
To Volunteer to do "Walk Through"
Look-ups (where you go to the cemetery and copy the information on the
tombstone or take pictures). Go to the Home page and click on the word
"Volunteer". Send your name and e-mail address, the name of Cemetery, the
county and that you will do 'walk through' look-ups.
When a person contacts you, it
is between the two of you if you charge for your service and how much.
Be sure to tell the person before you do the look-up. Most people are willing
to pay a small fee for your gas and time, but it is best to make sure and
agree on the fee ahead of time.
If You Can No Longer Do Look-ups
If you can no longer do look-ups
or want to change the type of look-ups that you do, please notify Rhonda
Smith and Roni Vickers. We would like to keep the list up to date
without any broken links or out dated material.
If the survey is not already online,
you may submit it by e-mail to Rhonda
Smith and Roni Vickers . You can use
any of the following formats: Word Perfect; Microsoft Word; Note Pad or
Word Pad.
Before using other formats, please
contact Rhonda
Smith and Roni Vickers.
If the survey is online then just
submit the URL and we will link to the survey.
First go to the Home page and see
if the County is highlighted, if so click on the county name and you will
go to the page where the county is listed. Click on the county name again
and it will take you to the section where the county is listed. A list
of Volunteers will be listed and if they do Book look-ups or 'walk through'
look-ups.
Click on the person's name and
e-mail them a message. Any charge for the service is between the two of
you.
Many of the volunteers are working
people that do the look-ups in their spare time. Please allow a little
time for them to get back to you. If you have not heard from them within
a reasonable time (several days) try contacting them again. If the second
attempt fails please notify Rhonda
Smith and Roni Vickers.
