The Canebrake Genealogical & Historical Society is a organization dedicated to the preservation of the history and genealogical records of Conecuh County Alabama. Due to a large majority of the membership living outside the area of Conecuh County Alabama as well as the State of Alabama, our primary purpose is to provide an online format for the documentation and publication of records for use by anyone with an interest in Conecuh County.
Membership in the Canebrake Genealogical & Historical Society is open to anyone with an interest in the preservation of Conecuh County history and genealogy. We currently have two membership classes - Individual and Family.
Dues are for the period of January through December. Dues are late after January 31. Dues received for membership in the Canebrake Genealogical & Historical Society will provide funding for publications, printing costs as well as any incurred website costs.
The only requirement for membership is an annual submission of one genealogical or historical document for publication on this web site. The submission may include, but is not limited to:
Obituaries ~ Cemetery Surveys ~Cemetery Photos ~ Biographies ~ Family Histories ~ Family Photos
Will/Deeds ~ Census Transcriptions ~ Bibles Records ~ Church Records ~ Etc.
The submission must pertain to Conecuh County Alabama and must not contain any copyrighted materials that you do not have permission to use. All submissions will be posted on this website with credit given to the submitter. If you wish, your e-mail address will be included with your submission so that you may be contacted by fellow research-ers. You may submit material as often as you wish. If you do not have family information available to post on the web site but would still like to become a member, we will recognize your dues as a gift to the organization.
To become a member of the Canebrake Genealogical & Historical Society,fill out a membership application, attach a check or money order, and mail to the address on the membership form.
