? HICKS in Randolph County, AL and has children Mary E. "Nettie" HICKS, b
Sep 1862, and James William Asbury HICKS, b March 2, 1865. HICKS dies or
disappears by 1866 and Mary is found in the home of her parents with the two
children in the 1866 Randolph County Census. This portion of Randolph County
becomes Cleburne County in 1866 and Mary marries J. P. "Jacob" SMITH in
Cleburne County in Oct 1867 at the home of her parents. The HICKS children
as well as the SMITHs are found in this household in the 1870 Cleburne
County Census along with children Missouri, age 1 and Mathew M. 7 months
(believed to be a neighbor's child). I loose the KINGs after this census. A
cousin of mine told me he had talked to a gson of the SMITHs and was told
the KINGs were buried at White Plains/Mt. Zion Cemetery, in or near where
the new parking lot for the High School was when it was built, I believe in
the 1930's?
