BENEFIELD .I believe he lived around Randurne and may have been buired at
Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.I would love to know something about this
side of my family. My son was given a gun that was my great-grandfather's.
Him and my great- grand mother parted ways and he moved back there from
Talladega County. They both remarried and had other children I think one of
his other kids was a girl named Polly and she married a WHITE. Please help
me fill in some blanks in my family history.

we had our family traced back about 6 generations past what we already knew
only to find out that it was impossible to have been so. Now, we are
starting back at square 1. What we do know is that a Rueben ASHLEY and his
wife, Minerva DUNLAP (both thought to have been born in South Carolina -
possibly Abbeville County) moved into Heard County, GA in about 1840 -
1850. They first show up on the 1850 census as far as we have been able to
tell. Our family bibles all have Rueben's father being listed as Tobe
ASHLEY, but we can find no trace of a Tobe. It is probably a nickname, so
it doesn't help us very much
