Campbell Co., GA. They moved from Campbell Co., GA to Benton Co., AL in
1850. They were in Russell County in 1860 then were found on a Homestead
Land Patent in 1870-1876 in Cleburne Co., AL. They moved to Cullman County,
AL just before 1880 where their daughter, Amanda got married in their house
on Dec. 16, 1880. Their children were: Martha L., James Wyatt GENTRY, Mary
Elizabeth, Amanda, and Phoebe Ann. Jamesy Wyatt GENTRY married Sarah
"Sallie" SHELNUT (spelling varies). I believe Sarah SHELNUT is descended
from Andrew SHELNUT and Elizabeth GENTRY. James and Sarah lived in Cleburne
Co., AL in 1870 and had their first born son there. They probably moved to
Cullman Co. with his father, Joseph. Sometime between 1887 and 1893, they
moved to Benton, Saline Co., Arkansas where my family have been since. I
would love to find out Joseph's parentage. Other relatives who lived in the
Cleburne County area are: SKINNER, BARNETT, GABRIEL and LANGLEY. Also in the
Walker County area relatives were: JOHNSON. Mary Elizabeth LANGLEY was
related to James Wyeth LANGLEY who married Eatha Malinda SHELNUT. Eatha
lived next door to Joseph GENTRY and Mary while James Was in the military
during the Civil War. I believe Joseph was also in the military so it's
possible that the sister-in-laws were staying pretty close together. I
believe Joseph and Mary died in Cullman County in Walter Community and were
buried in Duck River Cemetery near Duck River Baptist Church. It has been
said that Joseph's oldest daughter, Martha L. GENTRY was born in Ranburne or
