Weems, carrie francis * trying to identfy indian herritage she married Henry
Baxter there was a Daughter born by the name of Ruby Lona BAxter 7/6/1896 this
information is needed to help identify Indian herritage as we are in the process
of trying to adopt 11 year old twins, a boy and girl, who have been children
living in our neighborhood for the last 4 yrs. They have some Indian herritage,
( not enough for indian benifits ) yet the indian community still has the
ability to dictate who can adopt these children. If we can prove Indian
herritage, then we will hav a much better chance. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. We Love these kids who have been wards of Washington State for
several years and have endured many foster homes. We would like them to become a
permanant part of our family and put an end to the foster home syndrome they
have endured. They Love us too and want nothing more than to be adopted by us.
Per family stories, Ruby Lona BAxter was 1/2 Indian, (Mother was Carrie Francis
Baxter-Weems ) not sure what tribe, Cherokee, Chauktaw or BlackFoot have all
been mentioned. Thank you in advance for any possible assistance, Sincerely,
