NC & GA), d. June 1883, Bryce Hospital, Tuscaloosa, AL; lived in Gadsden, Cherokee/Etowah County AL from 1840 until death. Was a Methodist minister & school teacher as well as delegate to the 1861 Secession Convention. Married Martha Eunice BROWN abt 1844; Children: John W., Jr., James, Charles, William Thomas (my ancestor), Mary Francis POTTER CAIN WESCOTT, and Sarah/Sallie POTTER MOORE.

Mother-Sarah Ann Louise McKINNEY. Marriage records of Tallapoosa Co. Ala. indicate marriage to Cornelia VEAZEY. Their children: James C. BARNES, Ida BARNES, Sarah BARNES, Robert B. BARNES. HICKS, KING, SMITH posted by Jackie Crumley on Monday, February 10, 1997: Mary E. KING, b c1842 (daugther of William KING and Gilla/Gilly) marries ? HICKS in Randolph County, AL and has children Mary E. "Nettie" HICKS, b Sep 1862, and James William Asbury HICKS, b March 2, 1865. HICKS dies or disappears by 1866 and Mary is found in the home of her parents with the two children in the 1866 Randolph County Census. This portion of Randolph County becomes Cleburne County in 1866 and Mary marries J. P. "Jacob" SMITH in Cleburne County in Oct 1867 at the home of her parents. The HICKS children as well as the SMITHs are found in this household in the 1870 Cleburne County Census along with children Missouri, age 1 and Mathew M. 7 months (believed to be a neighbor's child). I loose the KINGs after this census. A cousin of mine told me he had talked to a gson of the SMITHs and was told the KINGs were buried at White Plains/Mt. Zion Cemetery, in or near where the new parking lot for the High School was when it was built, I believe in the 1930's?

Mar 23, 1867 New Orleans also buried in Mobile. I need any info at all concerning these people. Thanks. Also info on daughter Lee Etta PAUL marrried to Rod TRILCK.

LAMBERSON posted by Morris Lamberson on Wednesday, February 12, 1997: I am looking for information on my grandpa - Elijah LAMBERSON - He was born about 1818 in SC (not sure of county) later moved west and was on Tippah Cty MI census in 1850. He married a person from AL, so I am hoping to get some leads from AL - not sure if he lived in Al. In the 1950s the family moved to Independence Co AR. Any information would be appreciated.
