Am searching for info on David KNIGHT and wife Manima.They were in the Cleburne Co. in 1858. He was thought to be a founding member of Mars Hill Church. He was a Primative Baptist Minister.He was also a member of Lower Cane Creek. I have some info on the family but need to confirm the information.any help would be appreciated and I will be glad to share info with others.....thanks.....Charlie Knight

Children of Abner & Lucinda include but not limited to, Frances b. ca 1825 SC, Calvin VISE b. 1826 SC married Mary PETERSON, d. Cleburne co. in 1917, Sterling VISE b. ca 1830 SC, Rhoda VISE b. ca 1831 SC, Memory N. VISE b. 1832 married Elizabeth WRIGHT, died 1909 in Cleburne co., Hosea M. VISE b. 1837 SC, married Margaret PRUITT, died 1919 Cleburne co. AL. Any help greatly appreciated.

Searching for parents, ancestors of Jacob SOUTHERLAND born ca 1836, married to Margaret C. SMITH in 1852 in old Benton County, AL. He must have died or otherwise disappeared by 1869 because Margaret remarried to George Washington GAY, Jr. in 1869 in Carroll County, GA. There were three children thought to be born to Jacob SOUTHERLAND and Margaret: John Albert SOUTHERLAND born July 14, 1853, Sarah Ann SOUTHERLAND born ca 1867, Andrew Jackson SOUTHERLAND born ca 1868.

ROBERTSON, James Wiley, born GA. 2/8/1833, d. Ashland, Clay County AL on 7/14/1873. Married Nancy Jane COX of Georgia born on 3/20/1839. Children: James Henry, b. 7/20/1866, Wiley Buyon, b. 9/6/1857, Ben Franklin, b. 5/19/1860. My great-grandfather is ROBERTSON, James Henry, b. Ashland, Clay County, AL on 7/22/1866, d. Acworth, GA(Mars Hill Cemetery), on 9/16/1949 and married Nancy Elizabeth McDANIEL of Georgia, b. 5/23/1869. She was buried at Acworth, GA (Mars Hill Cemetery) on 9/25/1950.

I am searching for any information on the surname THOMAS, my greatgrandfather was William R. THOMAS born 12-7-1864 (an only child). his parents were Floyd and Abby (Abbie) THOMAS (no maiden name for her). Family folklore (not documented) has it that William R. was born in Cleburne County. and that Abby burned in a sage fire in 1870-71. No other information is known..any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a photo of my wife's G Grandfather, Whack BENEFIELD and two of his brothers (Alf & Richard) each in a coffin leaned up beside their fathers house. Two of the brothers, Alf and Richard shot and killed Whack, Whack's mule and each other. This happened on December 16, 1910. I have one newspaper account of this event from a Heflin Paper. I would like information on my ggreatgrand father James Aaron (?) HART (the only thing we know about his parents is his mothers first name was Anna) and ggreatgrand mother Susan BRYANT. James Aaron(?)HART 1821and Susan BRYANT February 10,1822. We beleive he was born in South Carolina and she was born in Newton Co. Georgia and died August 29, 1910 in Cleburne Co. Alabama. I would love to have a copy of their birth certificate , marriage certificate or death certificate if available.
