ELBA - William Anthony
Adcock, 22, of Route 2, Box 113, Elba,
died Monday, Dec. 14, 1992.
Funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at the Faith
Chapel Church with the Revs. James Adcock and
Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will follow
in the Pine Level Community Cemetery in Elba
with Hayes Funeral Home directing.
NO FOUL PLAY
SUSPECTED IN
DEATH
At approximately 7:02 a.m. on Dec. 15 the
Elba Rescue Squad responded to a call at
Route 2, Box 113, Elba. The residence is
located west of Elba on Highway 84.
Upon arrival they found a 22-year-old white
male,
William Adcock dead. The
Coffee County Sheriff's Department, Coroner
Bobby Baker, the District Attorney's Office
and the Department of Forensic Sciences are
conducting an investigation to determine the
cause and time of death. The deceased was
found by a family member in the bed. No foul
play is expected.
CHRIS
CHARLES
Chris Charles, 18, a
resident of Fort Greely, Alaska, and a former
resident of Enterprise, died Friday, Dec. 11,
1992 at Delta Junction, Alaska.
Christopher Lee Charles was born July 25,
1974 at Gainesville, Fla. He was a senior at
Delta High School, Delta Junction, Alaska. He
joined the U.S. Army through the delayed
entry program and was to leave July 30, 1993.
Chris was preceded in death by his paternal
grandfather, Mr. Clifford Charles.
Survivors include his mother and step-father,
Donna and Timothy Brion of Fort
Greely, Alaska; a sister, Brittany
Brion of Fort Greely, Alaska; his father,
William Frederick Charles of Lake
City, Fla.; his paternal grandmother, Mrs.
Louis Charles of Lake City, Fla.; his
maternal grandparents, Bobby and
Betty Whigham of Enterprise; his maternal
great-grandmother, Mrs. Rubie Collins
of Enterprise; his maternal grandparents,
Donald and Jeanette Williams of
Columbus, Ohio; his paternal grandparents,
Robert and Sara Brion of Enterprise;
and a number of uncles, aunts, cousins,
nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be at Searcy Funeral Home in
Enterprise after 3 p.m. Thursday. The family
will receive friends at Searcy Funeral Home
Thursday night from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from
the Chapel of Searcy Funeral Home with the
Rev. Jerry Haley officiating. Burial will
follow in the Enterprise City Cemetery with
Searcy Funeral Home directing.
BRANDON
CLARKE
Infant
Brandon Shane Clarke, 6 days
old, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1992 in UAB
Hospital in Birmingham.
Infant Clarke was preceded in death by his
maternal great-grandfather,
Mr. Benjamin
Phillips.
Survivors include parents,
Thomas and
Michelle Clarke of Enterprise; one
sister,
Brittany Nichole Clarke of
Enterprise; maternal grandparents,
Mr. and
Mrs. George Phillips of New Brockton;
paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
B. Clarke of Enterprise; maternal
great-grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. William
Barbaree of New Brockton; maternal
grandmother,
Mrs. Helen Phillips of
New Brockton; and paternal great-grandparents
Mr. and Mrs. Vandy Hodges
of Enterprise.
Graveside services will be held today at 10
a.m. at Meadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev.
John Meredith officiating. Searcy Funeral
Home will direct the service.
JOE LEE JONES
Joe Lee Jones, 72, of
Enterprise died Dec. 13, 1992 in Humana
Hospital. Survivors include his wife,
Sarah Jones; two sons, Cephus Jones
and Jimmy Jones, both of Enterprise; 13
daughters, Joann Jones, Peggy Thomas,
Betty Sue Jones, Gail Scott, Cindy Stewart,
Thelma Fluellen, and Brendi Davis, all of
Enterprise, Renee Gray of Fort
Stewart, Ga., Linda Veal of Warner Robbins,
Ga., Sybil Bell of Baltimore,
Md., Ethel Jean Fisher and Jo Ruth
Moten, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; a
brother, Buck Jones of Elba; a sister,
Mary Jones of Enterprise; 35
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and
a host of other relatives.
A wake will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday
night at the House of Prayer Church of God in
Christ on Park Avenue.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St.
Beulah Baptist Church in Enterprise with
Elder J.C. Mcleod officiating. Burial will be
in New Summer Hill Cemetery with Hartford
Memorial Chapel of Hartford directing.
