Thank you for all your efforts in establishing this site. My wife and I visited the Russellville Public Library in late March, 2003, and made copies of a few pages from the cemetery data. After returning home, I learned I had not copied all the pages needed. This site will now enable me to continue my research from home. Thank you so much. Your work is greatly appreciated. I am glad to see more information available online for Frankin County. I am very interested in researching the families that migrated from Franklin County Alabama to Saline County, Arkansas:Hovaters, Willis, Hester, Rickard, Vinson, Taylor, James, Brewer, Williams, Turbyfill and others. Please feel free to contact me on any of these lines.

Thank you very much for updating this site. My great grandfather was born in Franklin Co. And I am searching for info on him. His Civil War record has him as being born in Franklin Co. Al. in 1837. Name could have been mis-spelled as Mardis or Mortice, Jackson. I am hoping to visit there sometimes. Again, Thank you for your hard work.

I am glad I found your Franklin County Site. I am beginning to conduct research amout my father's side of my family. According to an aunt, my grandfather was from Franklin county, Alabama (perhaps Russellville). He and his brother left (quickly) in the late 1920s or early 1930s. His name was James Guinn. He and his brother (Omar?) went to Ohio. Any help that anyone can provide will be appreciated. Keep up your good work! Jeff Guinn

Greetings ! YOu have put an INCREDIBLE amount of work into this site! You are to be commended ! I hope that when I have time later in my life that I can make a similar contribution to people searching in genealogy and history! I am REALLY stabbing in the dark on my family history. My paternal great grandparents. GGranmother's maiden name was Margaret Burgess and GGrandfather's name was John Burgess (?)Scott . I have gotten several different sources on where they were born- HOwever, I HAVE tracked down a Margaret Burgess showing up in the Franklin census of 1870. My source says that she shows up as having been born about 1865--which would fit- my grandmother was born in 1893. AND a John B. Scott shows up in the same census- according to my source- shows that he was born about 1858. I am guessing that perhaps they grew up in the same town and that is how they first met. I went back to school this year to get my alternative teacher's certificate and am working daily as a substitute teacher- so am living on a VERY Spare income- so am trying to do as much research as I can without having to join expensive Genealogy site at this time !- If any of this might sound familiar to any of you or if you have any ideas or suggestions- please email me! With best regards, Jane VanDeMark firstname.lastname@example.org

They were the parents of a number of children, five of whom survived to adulthood: Charles Thomas (born 1909 in MS), Claude Barnett (born 1914 in MS), George W. Jr. (born 1918 in AL), Mary Carolin (born 1920 in AL) and Elizabeth Burl (born 1924 in TX). George died in 1953 and is buried at Strong Memorial Cemetery at Slocum, Texas.

Anyone out there familiar with the name Benjamin Chapman? I am exploring the possibility that he is my great great great great grandfather. If you have a relation to someone by this name, and if he ended up in Mississippi near Amory, I sure would love to talk to you! My ggg grandfather's name was William Washington Chapman and I know for sure he had a sister named Nancy Chapman who married man named Andrew Conner. WW Chapman married Caroline Todd. By the time they married, the family had moved to the Madison County area of Tennessee but Benjamin (or other father figure) did not accompany them. I think WW's mother's name was Elizabeth but I don't have that information in front of me at the moment. Thanks for any potential help!

Thanks for the 171 cemetery listings. I found my fathers aunt and uncle at Little Flock Cemetery. Have not been able to find my great-grandmother yet.
