I am researching theWARREN surname in Franklin Co. My ggggrandfather was Jeremiah WARREN, listed as being 74 in the 1850 census, and born in KY. His wife was Nancy (no last name) who was 40, and listed as born in GA. I am descended from his son John H. who moved from Alabama to Carbondale, IL about 1863 and enlisted in Co. "I", 13th IL Cav. He was an ambulance driver in Pine Bluff AR during the war. After the war he settled in Webster Co., MO where he lived out his life. He had two brothers, Charles and Marion, who fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War, and who survived it. I would like to find information on any of theseWARREN's, particularly on Jeremiah. I'd also like to find out what happened to Charles and Marion. Family lore says John couldn't return to Alabama after the war because he had fought for the Union. As a result he was effectively disowned by his kin. Thank You... Dale Warren

BISHOP / BULLOCK / MCCARLEY / BOXTAL; AL, USA; 1790-1998 Have my great-grandfather's (Dillard G. Bishop) marriage license to MargrettL. McCarley on 6 Nov 1895....witnessed by J. T. Harris, T. R. H. Bishop and James M. Bishop; in Marion County Alabama. Judge of probate...Jason P. Ford. Dillard and Margrett had at least one son, my grandfather William S. Bishop b.7 March 1901 d. 22 July 1973; married Shellie Belle Bullock 14 Oct. 1921 in Marion County, AL. Questions....Who are T. R. H. Bishop and James M. Bishop?? Were they brothers and what relationship were they to Dillard?? This is only a guess, but could the T. R. initials stand for "The Reverend" H. Bishop. On 2 Oct 1897 a James M. Bishop married Sarah Boxtal in Marion County, Alabama. Is this the same James M. Bishop, that witnessed the marriage of Dillard and Margrett?? I believe that James and Dillard were related. James was said to be a Civil War Vet and lived in Bibb Co. AL. He (or they) moved to Marion Co., AL before the war. It was also believed that they may have come to AL by way of SC or GA. Can anyone confirm or add anything more..(mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers or sisters)..for any of the above named individuals? Anything on any of the named Bishops could really break through this "genealogy wall" I'm up against. Thanks!

Daniel L.FRASIER, b. circa 1823, MD, married, circa 1846, to Alice L>MIDDLETON, b. circa 1824, in SC. They lived in Franklin Co., AL, for a number of years....from about 1847 unitl around 1887,when they settled in Hill Co.,TX, locating north of Woodbury. William Evett FRASIER, their son, came to Hill Co., TX, in the winter of 1873-74, returned to AL for a short while, then came back to Hill Co., settling near Osceola. He and his father bought land from J.J.GATHINGS and farmed it. William Evett FRASIER was married to Lucy J.CLINKSCALES in 1873. She was from Tishomingo Co., MS. Lucy died in 1878 and in December of 1882, he married Mary Catherine (Mollie)MATTHEWS, b. 1853, Bradley Co., AK., daughter of Robert and Rebecca (HOWELL) GANNAWAY. Mollie had previously been married to David MATTHEWS. In 1898, Mollie died in Hill Co., and is said to have been buried in Cedar Belle Cemetery. (Where is this located?) Sometime around 1902, I would guess, William E. FRASIER married EmmaMERCHANT, b. 1873, MS. They left Hill Co. in November of 1903 and settled in the Blalock Mexico Colony in Chamal, Tamulipas, Mexico. I would love to hear from anyone who may have information and/or leads on these families. HENRY M. SHURBET, SHERBIT, VARIOUS SPELLINGS We are looking for information on Henry M. Shurbet in the MS area and hoped that this query might be realized by someone who might have some information which might assist us. My Mother and I have been searching for any and all information regarding "Henry Middleton? Shurbet." H.M.S. resided in Prentiss and enlisted in the Confederacy in 1862 in 19th Infantry, CO-K. We have copies of documents that show this but we are unable to find much else. On his military papers his name was usually spelled "Sherbit", however, there are different spellings as I'm sure you know. He served at Richmond VA, at Chimbrazo Hospital as a Guard, and later in Columbus, and return to Prentiss at the close of the Civil War. H.M.S. was born 1814 in SC, and died and is buried in Prentiss in 1892. He was my G-G-G Grandfather. His Son, to whom I descend, was Zadus Brister Shurbet. One Genealogist suggests that he was a spy for the Confederacy, and suggests that that is the reason we are unable to find much information. If you can be of any assistance, Mom and I would sure appreciate your help. Your Heritage Friend, Larry
