The Adie in the census is my grandfather Harvey Adell West. He was born in Iuka MS in 1915. Merrilee is his sister Mary who lived and died in Spokane WA. She sent us ashes from Mt. St Helens when it erupted and was a wonderful lady. She had three daughters who all died young from cancer. Christine (married nameKIDD ) in Florida, Opal in California and I can't think of the other one's name. Everlee in the census is his sister Eveline. I have a picture of Eveline with her mother Mary PYATES WEST when Mary was sick from cancer. So many women in this family who have died very young from this disease. After the 1920 census Harve and Mary had more children, Arlee, Ann and Jean. Arlee married Christine and they have family still living in Pemiscot Co MO, Ann moved to Memphis TN, Jean married a man named Luke. After MaryYATES WEST died, Harve Lowe WEST remarried to a woman named Lucille from TN and they had three sons, Harold, Willis and Richard. By the time my mom was born in 1944 the WEST family was livig in Pemiscot Co MO in and around Hayti. Some things that my mother told me. Harve Lowe WEST had a brother named Holley or Hollie. Some old family names on my West side are Nathan or Nathaniel and Jesse. I have found a family in the 1880 Franklin Co census who could be Harve Lowe WEST parents. Willis WEST W M 23 AL Rachel A W F 24 AL Hetty J W F 4 AL James H W M 1 AL There is a message on the West msg board at genealogy.com which states this couple had other children some of whose names are Harvey, Holley and David. COLLUM, JOHNSTON/JOHNSON, CARR - Am looking for info on my gggrandfather, William Hodge COLLUM, his first wife, Hannah CARR (we think) and my ggrandmother, FrancesJOHNSTON/JOHNSON, who married Thomas Benton/Betton COLLUM. Also, my grandfather, Joe Wheeler COLLUM was a member of the FRANKLIN COUNTY SELF-PRESERVATION LOYALTY LEAGUE - what was this? Its purpose was "towards the enforcement of our Laws, to work six days in each week, and to use his influence and efforts towards compelling every able-bodied man to do likewise." Was this an anti-Roosevelt group? Does anyone know? Thanks.

FIELDER, Enos and wife ElizabethBYRD. Enos and Elizabeth were both born in VA. He in either Prince Edward or Goochland Co. We are not sure where in VA she was born, nor who her parents were. He is the son of Dennis FIELDER and his unknown first wife. He had brothers Charles(who moved to Pickaway Co, then Logan Co. in OH) and Runnel (who married in Washington Co., VA; then moved to Grant Co., IN; then on to Vermilion Co. (the part that later became Champaign Co.) IL; then to St.Francis, Lawrence and Philips Co.'s in AR.) The brother Charles and Runnel married sister's, daughters of ThomasCROW and SusannahBRITTON of SC and then Washington Co., VA (Thomas later moved about the same time as Charles to Pickaway Co., OH). Charles married Susannah and Runnel married Mary. This was in the early 1800's. About the same time Enos married Elizabeth in Grayson Co., VA (you can find a record of their marriage in New River Notes-Grayson County Marriages). Later Enos and Elizabeth moved to "Mississippi Territory" and lived, died and are buried some place in Franklin County, AL. (per a family historian). We would very much like to get in touch with this branch of our family tree. Please check out theFIELDER-HONTS-SINGLETON Family Genealogy webpage. (It is only an introductory page to the future "Our Family Cousins" website which is in the processes of being designed, but it will let you know what the future site will be about).   http ://www.geocities.com/cagranny2000/index.html?331816005160

DANIEL, BYARS, SPARKS, AND SARTAIN are the names that I am reresearching in Franklin Co. AL. My great grandfather, James Daniel, b. abt. 1805, SC, and his brother Robert, both sons of John B. Daniel, b. 1769 VA, were first listed inin Franklin Co. in the 1850 Census. They lived in the Old Nauvoo Community. We are looking for the record of the death of James' first wife Elizabeth, and James marriage to his second wife, Rachel. James and Rachel are listed together in the 1860 census. Robert's son Philip Daniel is buried at Old Nauvoo Cemetery. Robert's daughter, Christina Daniel, wife of Johnson T. Sparks, is buried at the Friendship Cemetery south of Belgreen. James' daughter, Nancy Mary, married Thomas Albert Sartain, and she is buried in the Weatherbee Cemetery south of Pleasant Site. We have traced Nancy's family and some of Robert's descendants (at Pleasant Site and Red Bay) through Robert's son Kenny and grandson John Willis. We are related to the Thorn family through Kenny's daughter Ozella. Catherine Daniel, sister of James and Robert, married John Logan Byars. She was in Franklin Co., Township 7, in 1880, with two sons, Thomas J. and John A. Byars. We would like to hear from any Daniel connections who might have more family records.
