Escambia County

Surnames: Dixon, McNeil, Coley, Lane, Crawford, Johnson, Betts

A liner act approved Feb. 21, 1870 stating "That the boundary line between the Counties of Covington and Escambia be so changed as to make WILEY DIXON a citizen of Covington Co.

On March 17, 1875, an act was approved which said,               "That  A.D. McNeil, Luke Coley, William Lane, J. M. Crawford   and B. J. Johnson, now citizens of Escambia Co. be declared citizens of Monroe County.  In 1891 another act further clarifying these liners declared the above men plus William H. Betts, now citizens of the County of Conecuh. Evidently these men all lived in the area where Escambia, Monroe and Conecuh counties join.
