Hunt's Spring Chapter, NSDAR
Our members are active in conservation, education, historic and genealogical preservation, literacy promotion, and patriotic events.
We have participated in refurbishing a school nature habitat, trash pickup campaigns, tree-planting, and other conservation events.
we adopt a class
at the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in Grant,
Alabama, and throughout the year our members offer mentoring and
financial support for a variety of projects at the school.
Kate Duncan Smith DAR School
We honor outstanding community leaders in north Alabama who have made a positive impact in the areas of historic preservation, conservation, and community service.
We award Good Citizen and American History Essay medals to students, and ROTC medals to outstanding high school and college cadets.
We work with other local chapters to promote Constitution Week each year, and participate in such placing holiday wreaths on the graves of local Revolutionary War veterans. We also mark the graves of our deceased members.
