Member
Activities Our members are active in conservation, education, historic and genealogical preservation, literacy promotion, and patriotic events. We have participated in refurbishing a school nature habitat, trash
pickup campaigns, tree-planting, and other conservation events.
We honor the country's military veterans each year by hosting a party for residents of the Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Home and participating in Huntsville's Veterans Day parade. During the year we continually send magazines, clothing, and personal supplies to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, where our overseas servicemen and women are treated. Our
chapter members contribute
countless hours to the
youth of our community, providing mentoring and tutoring, and
contributing books and educational materials to school children in
the Tennessee Valley. We sponsor student competitions for historic
and patriotic endeavors, awarding medals, certificates, and small
cash awards to the winners.![]() Becker Hall, Kate Duncan Smith DAR School |
