The man is my grandfather's brother, the one I am proud to call Great Uncle. ALEXANDER SHERMAN PALMER is his name he was Haleyville's leading physician and surgeon. He was born in Marion County Alabama, Jan. 3,1868 - died 1909. He was the son of Dr. Russell Porter Palmer. Dr.Alexander S. was surgeon for the North Alabama Railroad company. In 1896 he was elected to the legislature from Winston County and served 4 years. He had one son Robert Russell Palmer born Sept 10,1902
