The pictures above were contributed by Joel Palmer. The top row is the "Old Home Place" that belonged to James H. Palmer and is now Joel's. In Joel's words:
The old house is part of the Russell Porter Palmer old home place, and the old log house on the Jim Palmer(my Dad's) place,The story is like this. The man that owned the old Russell Palmer house,(E.Fikes a cousin) gave it to me after it was falling in and too for along to rebuild so I pulled the best logs out and moved them to the old Jim Palmer house here on Williams creek, and restored the Jim Palmer house with the best material from the Russell Palmer house. The two houses were very near the same in every way. The two houses were first built about the year of 1845.
