GOLDEN, LILE posted by Rosemary on Wednesday, May 7, 1997

Thomas Jefferson GOLDEN m. Sarah Arenna LILE sometime in 1866. They were on the 1866 Randolph Co. agri. census, and the 1870 Federal census, along with Marcellus Plummer GOLDEN (b. Roanoke, ALA 1866) and Lula GOLDEN, about 4 and 2 respectively. I cannot find either one of these people before this, with any surety. Thomas GOLDEN said he was b. 1836 in SC, Sarah LILE in 1840 in GA. In 1880, Thomas was in Mississippi with a different wife. Did Sarah die in Alabama? Does anyone have any knowledge of either of these people?

GRIFFIN, JAMES, SMALLWOOD, WASSON posted by Mary James Hamilton on Sunday, May 18, 1997

Searching for information about my James roots. My grandparents were Baxter Clay/Clegg JAMES and Sarah Emly GRIFFIN. They lived in LaFayette, Chambers, Co., AL. Sarah Emly's parents were James Monroe GRIFFIN and Mary E. SMALLWOOD. Baxter's parents were Joseph JAMES and Elizabeth WASSON. The JAMES line is from the Iredell/Rowan Co., NC area and the GRIFFIN line appears to be Georgia and Alabama. I have hit dead-ends trying to find out anything about these people. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
