Great-great-grandfather Zelland KNIGHT, wife and family were in Randolph County before 1870. Zelland's daughter, Sallie KNIGHT, married George EAST about 1888. Where did this KNIGHT family come from? Could Zelland be the s/o George KNIGHT (b 1840, GA), who was s/o James M. KNIGHT (b 1793, NC)? Who was Zelland's wife? General information about KNIGHTs in Randolph County during the late 1800s would be appreciated too.

Would like to make contact with anyone searching the Thomas STEPHENS family of Randolph Co AL. Would like to determine if he was a brother to my ancestor, Simion Sylvester STEPHENS b. 1818 GA who died in Clayton Co GA. My information shows that Thomas was b. 1813 GA and married Mary Amanda ADAMSON. I have an old notebook that belonged to Green Berry STEPHENS, my gg-gf and the possible nephew of Thomas, that simply states, "Thomas STEPHENS, Lamar PO AL". It also contains similiar small notes on others whom I believe must belong to this STEPHENS family. I have no real evidence that there is a family connection between Thomas and Simion Sylvester other than they lived in the same area of GA (Henry & Clayton Co's) and the brief notes made by my gg-gf. I think he must have been recording addresses of relatives. Any help piecing together the earlier generations will be most appreciated.

BARTLETT, Thomas E.: My grandfather was killed in an auto accident in Roanoke AL on February 21 1930. If anyone comes across the newspaper article on this accident, I would love to have a copy or at least find out what was said. I have contacted the Alabama Dept. of Vital Statics for the death certificate but was told that there was not one on file. I am sure that he died in Roanoke because I have a copy of the documents from the insurance company..Also mentioned in these documents were the names of Mack Higgin, Elmer Belchner, Miss Augusta Arnett, Dr. G.C. Usury. If anyone has any information on this accident, I would love to hear from you.
