Searching for my great-grandmother Alice (Allice) DUNN b. abt. April 1877. Born somewhere in Alabama, she is first found on an 1880 census for Chambers Co. Alabama. The census for Chambers Co. list Francis M. DUNN 49 years as head of household, wife, Mary W. 49, son William S. 25 , son Thomas 22, Thomas’ wife Jane 20, their son, John 8/12, Mattie 7, and Allice 4. Both Mattie and Alice are listed as niece. The question is: according to the ages they should be niece to Thomas or one of Thomas’ brothers ..... but may be the niece of Francis. I am not sure where Alice was born in Alabama, however, in 1894 she is married to husband Frank Hiram VAUGHN in Chambers Co. She is next located in 1900 census for Tallapoosa Co., New Site Alabama with husband Hiram and children, Rozella 4 and Henry W. 2. I next find Alice on the 1910 Chambers Co. Alabama census with husband Hiram (Horam) and children, Roseter 15, Henry 12, John W. 9, Willie 3, and Tommy 2/12. I have been unable to locate this family on the 1920 census. I was told that Alice may have died about 46 due to complications of child birth. I do not know where or when she died. Would love to correspond with anyone researching this family or had seen these names in their search. Barbara Gage e-mail Bgage4911@aol.com.
