Warren Hawkins WILSON (b.1831 SC,was enumerated in Randolph Co, AL. on the 1870 census at Rock Mills, Randolph Co. with his wife, Frances GATES (b.1836 SC) and two daughters, Frances WILSON, 6, Cornelia WILSON, 3, and Cynthia GATES, 68, mother of Frances GATES WILSON. In 1880, Warren WILSON, 49, wife, Sarah F. (GATES )WILSON, 44, were enumerated with four daughters, Mary Frances WILSON, 15, Cora Elizabeth WILSON, 13, Osa T. WILSON, 9, and Mary L.WILSON, 5. All four children were born in AL. I would like to know where Cynthia GATES, Warren Hawkins WILSON and Mary Frances (GATES) WILSON were buried. Warren Hawkins WILSON married second, Alice TILDEN. I need parental connections for both Warren Hawkins WILSON and Alice TILDEN.

Robert MERRILL: enumerated in 1860 in Randolph Co., AL census with wife Sara and 8 children. Was age 33 in 1860. Owned a grist mill on the Hillabatchee Creek which was destroyed in a flood in 1883. One of his daughters and 3 grandchildren were killed in the flood. Does anyone out there have more information on Robert MERRILL ?: I believe, but cannot confirm, that he was born in GA and his parents were Joseph MERRILL and Mariah BELL. Also that Robert had a brother named Joseph Bell MERRILL, who was living in Carroll Co. GA in 1860. Did Joseph Bell MERRILL ever live in Randolph Co. or conduct business there? Will be very grateful for whatever information is available about this family and will be glad to share. Thanks, Lynn H.

Seeking info on parents and family of Robert Alexander WALKER who lived in Randolph Cty. Family members were later in Clay County. Robert Alexander WALKER was married to Mary Bob GOSS and they had children, Samuel Alexander (married Roxie WALDROP), Armandy (married John BOLT) Susan(married Dillard GREEN), William (married Joan WILKERSON, and George (married Savannah STRICKLAND.) Have info on some of the spouses, particulaly the WALDROP and STRICKLAND families Will appreciate any help you can give me and I will be glad to share what info I have.

My grandfather, John Lawson MULLINS,and his brother, Charles Alexander MULLINS moved to Randolph Co, AL. in the 1870s from their home in Talbot Co, GA. John Lawson MULLINS was b. in Talbot Co, GA. in 1867 and Charles Alexander MULLINS was b. in Talbot Co, GA. in 1859. John Lawson MULLINS m. Minnie Lee WILSON in 1888 in Randolph Co,AL. and Charles Alexander MULLINS m. Ocie Tessa WILSON (sister to Minnie Lee WILSON). Minnie Lee WILSON & Ocie Tessa WILSON were daughters of Warren Hawkins WILSON (b.1821 SC) & Sarah Frances GATES (b.1836 SC). Cynthia GATES (b.1802 SC)was the mother of Sarah Frances GATES & probably d. in Randolph Co. AL. before 1880. John & Charles MULLINS and their families moved to Hopkins Co,TX. in 1895.

He was a minister of the Primitive Baptist Church. He was the father of the following children: Major, William, John, Squire, Catherine and Jane. William MORRISON's daughter Jane married James M. ABEL sometime before 1830 in Tennessee & they had 15 children. James died in 1849 in Cherokee Co., Alabama & Jane is listed with children in 1850 Cherokee Co. census. Jane later married a Mister LEATHERS in Calhoun Co.

J.F. STEPHENS md to Mary -- Pri. Co. G. 30 Rgt. Randolph Co. He died 8/7/1863. Does anyone know anything about this man. She evidently drew a pension as they are recorded in Historical Records of Randolph Co., Ala pg. 175 #13004 and she is listed as his widow. Am trying to located J(ason) F(elix) STEPHENS/STEVENS born 4/8/1853 in Alabama and was in Wood Co., Tx by 1875. He married Amanda FOWLER who was also from Ala and they had 6 children. Granny said that Jason Felix's father rode off to the civil war and they never heard from him again. This is a big brick wall. Any possibilities appreciated.

I am Looking for information on the family of Clement Floyd CLIFTON listed on the 1850 Randolph County census. Clement married Nancy JACKSON. This family was originally from Troup, Georgia and may have been in Alabama as early as 1846. The second child of Clement and Nancy was John CLIFTON b Jan 29, 1833 married Mary Ann STRICKLAND. They had 10 children. Their fourth child Thomas Clemy/Clemie/Clemith b aobut 1861 in Wedowee married Augusta COOPER in Louisiana. He may have been returning from Texas at the time and this was possibly his second marriage. She may have also had a prior marriage. Between them they had at least five children. Tom, Ervin, Bessie, Merty, Wiley and Jody. Augusta COOPER CLIFTON died at age 90 in Dekalb County, AL I do not have the date or place of death for Clemith CLIFTON but I believe he died prior to 1930.

Searching for information about Thomas HUEY who lived in Randolph Co., Al. prior to the Civil War. He died while serving in this war. His wife was named Mary Jane WOODSON? Both came to Randolph Co. from Dekalb Co., Ga. I believe that this was Thomas's second wife. Also in Randolph Co., at the same time was a Joseph HUEY. Both served in the war together. I do not find either living in Randolph Co., after the war. Mary Jane and her son Charles C. HUEY, (married to Sarah Louise COOPER) continued to live in Randolph Co. until their deaths. Can anyone give me the name of Thomas's father?
