Robert MERRILL: enumerated in 1860 in Randolph Co., AL census with wife Sara and 8 children. Was age 33 in 1860. Owned a grist mill on the Hillabatchee Creek which was destroyed in a flood in 1883. One of his daughters and 3 grandchildren were killed in the flood. Does anyone out there have more information on Robert MERRILL ?: I believe, but cannot confirm, that he was born in GA and his parents were Joseph MERRILL and Mariah BELL. Also that Robert had a brother named Joseph Bell MERRILL, who was living in Carroll Co. GA in 1860. Did Joseph Bell MERRILL ever live in Randolph Co. or conduct business there? Will be very grateful for whatever information is available about this family and will be glad to share. Thanks, Lynn H.

J.F. STEPHENS md to Mary -- Pri. Co. G. 30 Rgt. Randolph Co. He died 8/7/1863. Does anyone know anything about this man. She evidently drew a pension as they are recorded in Historical Records of Randolph Co., Ala pg. 175 #13004 and she is listed as his widow. Am trying to located J(ason) F(elix) STEPHENS/STEVENS born 4/8/1853 in Alabama and was in Wood Co., Tx by 1875. He married Amanda FOWLER who was also from Ala and they had 6 children. Granny said that Jason Felix's father rode off to the civil war and they never heard from him again. This is a big brick wall. Any possibilities appreciated.

Searching for information about Thomas HUEY who lived in Randolph Co., Al. prior to the Civil War. He died while serving in this war. His wife was named Mary Jane WOODSON? Both came to Randolph Co. from Dekalb Co., Ga. I believe that this was Thomas's second wife. Also in Randolph Co., at the same time was a Joseph HUEY. Both served in the war together. I do not find either living in Randolph Co., after the war. Mary Jane and her son Charles C. HUEY, (married to Sarah Louise COOPER) continued to live in Randolph Co. until their deaths. Can anyone give me the name of Thomas's father?
