HALL, MCCARLEY posted by Steve Martin on Tuesday, August 10, 1999

Seeking confirmation of marriage between James David HALL to Emily MCCARLEY on November 13, 1872 in Randolph Co., AL. The Bible of John Edcur HALL (J. D. HALL's brother) confirms the above date, but does not state in which county they married. James David HALL is listed on the 1870 Federal Census for Randolph Co. as age 17 and living in the household of William S. HALL (fathers name was actually Washington S. HALL). Emily MCCARLEY is listed on the same census as age 15 and living in the household of her brother Thomas J. MCCARLEY. By 1880 the Halls are back in Cherokee Co., AL. Cirsumstances do point to Randolph Co. as being the location of their marriage, but I'd like to confirm this beyond all doubt if possible. I do not have easy access to any Randolph Co. marriage records - I'm hoping someone out there does.
