ALLEN, ALLENS, CARSON, EASOM, HALL, HALLS, JONES, MILAM, NOLEN, OLIVER, TONEY, WILBANKS posted by Nancy Hall Hutchinson on Saturday, March 3, 2001

These Are my surnames HALL, ALLEN, JONES, MILAM. NOLEN. I am trying to get information on William Allen HALL b Feb. 5, 1868., and wife Mary Emma JONES , born Nov. 3, 1866. They were from either Randolph or Tallapoosa or Clay Counties. One source said they were living on the old Homeplace of a Captain ALLEN?) at Truitt Al. or near Wadley or maybe Daviston., during the years 1870-80 something. They may have been renting or sharecropping. William Allen HALL accidently shot himself on 17, March 1899. It is rumored Captain ALLEN buried some money for the surving HALL children . Later about 1900 or so Mrs. Mary Emma JONES HALL,& children all moved to Lanette, Chambers County, Ala. Mr. Hall was farmer who liked to lead at the all day singings. He was a boyhood friend of a Professor I.E. OLIVER. William Allen HALL is buried in the old Vickers Cemetery near Newsite below Daviston and near Newsite Al. A Mrs Claybrooks manages the cemetery. Two other HALLS are listed in my sources, but i don't know relationships, ? A HALL born May, 24, 1850 and J.S HALL Born Feb. 14, 1848 - died March 24, 1872. **There are several Halls in Wadley area and ALLENS and Halls in Clay/Tallapoosa Counties. The surnames MILAM and NOLEN are connected to the HALL and JONES families. Here are the children of William Allen HALL and Mary Emma JONES hall. 1- William Marvin HALL ( My grandfather born Aug. 10, 1888 Wadley?, later married a Addie TONEY, from Heard County, Franklin Ga. and later moves to Lanette, AL.2. Lillian Beatrice HALL CARSON born Sept. 24, 1890, her husbnd was Luthur of Wadley (Foster Chapel Church-wrote gospel Singing music) 3. Jessie Mae HALL, bn January 5, 1893, 4. Brinton Hughs HALL Aug. 10, 1896 - ran movie projector in Lanett Cinema years later. 5. Ethel Artimecia HALL WILBANKS. Bn. March 20, 1898.
My Grandfather William Marvin HALL & Addie Prince TONEY left Wadley or Truitt or Daviston to go to Lanette to get a better Job in the Mills. His first son was 1. Charles Olin HALL, born Mar. 1911, sold insurance and helped Uncle Brint with Movie Projector in Lanette. 2. Margaret HALL, born Aug. 10, 1915, played Piano for FBC of Lanette, and was College Professor at Lagrange College for 30 years. 3. Hugh HALL bn. worked at the Lanette Mills. 4. Daughter Lucille HALL who married Louie EASOM.
If anyone has a connection to these Halls or remembers any information I would appreciate it. I have not checked the 1870 or 80 Randolph or Clay census yet.IT maybe some of the Wadley Halls are some Kin and the Allens in and around Randolph & Clay/Tallapoosa Counties.

BEAIRD, JOHNSON posted by Gene Hyche on Saturday, March 31, 2001

I saw Lee County mentioned and just above there is Randolph and Chambbers Counties. My grandmother was Amanda LaRenna JOHNSON and she had 2 youner sisters, Retha and Lula. Amanda (Rene) was born in 1874 and born in Abanda,AL a very small community in north Chanbers County. She is listed in the 1880 Census with William JOHNSON (abt. 1857) and his wife Martha. When she was approximately 10 years old both her parents were killed in a buggy accident in either Chambers or Randolph County. This would have been in 1885-1886. By then all three girls were born and went to live in or near the town of Roanoke with their uncle Silas JOHNSON. The also had a cousin who lived a number of years in LaGrange, GA and who later moved to Cordele, GA named Lee JOHNSON. Lee had atleast one daughter named, Mae JOHNSON. This area is near LaFayette, Milltown, Abanda, Weedowee and Roanoke Alabama. Amanda married William Henry (Bud) BEAIRD. Looking now for any type connection to this family. Thanks, Gene Hyche genehy@aol.com
