BURDETT, FAULKNER posted by Gayle Hennington-Van Horn on Friday, September 21, 2001

FAULKNER/BURDETT Query Seeking any information with reference to a Ealcey (or Alice, Alcey) FAULKNER, b. 1813 in Edgefield Dist., SC. She was married to James W. BURDETT and lived in Randolph Co., AL from about 1837 - to her death between 1861-1865. I do not know exactly when she died or where she is buried, but I suspect she may be in the Bean Family Cemetery of Randolph Co. This cemetery was on private property, and is not listed within the Randolph Co., Cemetery List. The Burdett's moved to Randolph Co., AL, from DeKalb Co., GA, most likely just prior to 1837. Ealcey's brother was Wilson FAULKNER, the county sheriff, who also lived in this county with his wife Frances and daughter Amanda. Frances' brother was James W. BURDETT ... hence the connection! This James W. BURDETT, was also a son of Humphrey BURDETT of Chambers county. The area the Burdett's lived in was on 128 acres near the Tallapoosa River called Fox Creek. This area's boundary was redrawn in 1866 and became what is today Clay county. I have plenty to trade on the FAULKNERS as well as the BURDETT's, put hope someone may have any info on Ealcey. Kind Regards & Thanks!

Her father Madison died in 1854 (don't know where) and her mother with the younger children moves on to Franklin County Alabama. Have not been able to find Allard and her older sister Jane who was 16 in Franklin County. Did they marry men in Randolph County? Have an old family picture that was in my grandparents things that says on back "Aunt Allard SMITH and family. There are two boys and one girl in picture.
