In 1843, Lewis S. FREELAND was appointed postmaster of Kamulga, AL - 98 miles from Tuscaloosa. Where was Kamulga, AL? Was this the same Lewis FREELAND whose estate was auctioned at the Randolph Co. Courthouse on Dec. 31, 1847? Does anyone know if Lewis FREELAND is connected to the GA FREELANDs of Jasper, Newton, and Heard Counties?
