FALL QUARTER MEETING
Thursday, 13 September, 2007 at 6:30 P.M. CDT.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 will hold it's Fall Quarter Meeting at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Dutch Dinner will begin at 6:30 PM followed by fellowship and a special guest speaker, Dr. Wayne Flynt. Dr. Flynt is a distinguished author and a retired history professor at Auburn University. He will speak on the great revivals which swept the Confederate Armies in 1863-1865 and helped create the Southern evangelical mind in the 19th and 20th centuries. All members, The Auburn and Opelika United Daughters of the Confederacy, friends, prospective members and spouses are welcome and urged to join us. SPRING QUARTER MEETING
Thursday, 26 April, 2007 at 6:30 P.M. CDT.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held it's Spring Quarter Meeting at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Dutch Dinner began at 6:30 PM followed by fellowship and a special guest speaker, Dr. Dwayne Cox. Dr. Cox, a Southern historian, is the head of Special Collections & Archives at Auburn University. He spoke on the history of Auburn University during its first thirty years. This included the period of the South's War for Independence and the resulting Reconstruction period.

WINTER QUARTER MEETING
LEE/JACKSON HERITAGE DINNER
Thursday, 18 January, 2007 at 6:30 P.M. CDT.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held it's annual Lee/Jackson Heritage Banquet at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Dutch Dinner began at 6:30 PM followed by fellowship and a surprise guest speaker.

On Tuesday, November 14, 2006, The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held its Fall Quarter Meeting at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Dinner began at 6:30 PM followed by fellowship, business and a special featured speaker.

As usual, friends, prospective members and spouses were welcomed.

Thursday, 24 August, 2006 at 6:30 P.M. CDT.

On Thursday, August 24, 2006, The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held its Summer Quarter Meeting at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Dinner began at 6:30 PM followed by fellowship and featured speaker Carl Cupp discussed weapons of the War for Southern Independence era.

SPRING QUARTER MEETING
Monday, 24 April, 2006 at 6:30 P.M. CDT.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held its Spring Quarter Meeting at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Dinner began at 6:30 PM followed by fellowship. The program was presented by Nancy Dupree of the State Department of Archives and History.

Auburn and Opelika United Daughters of the Confederacy, friends, prospective members and spouses were welcome guests.

CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL DAY
Wednesday, 26 April, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. CDT.

A ceremony honoring our Confederate dead was held at Pine Hill Cemetery in Auburn. This was an opportunity to show our respect for those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our beloved Southland.

WINTER QUARTER MEETING

The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held it's annual Lee/Jackson Heritage Banquet at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Dinner began at 6:30 PM followed by fellowship and a most interesting presentation about Confederate weaponry by Dr. Cottier of Auburn University.

We were joined by the Auburn and Opelika United Daughters of the Confederacy, friends, prospective members and spouses.

FALL QUARTER MEETING
Thursday, 10 November, 2005 at 6:30 P.M. CDT.

Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held its Fall Quarter meeting on Thursday, 10 November, 2005 at 6:30 PM at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama.

The meeting began with the "Dutch treat" dinner, followed by fellowship. A most interesting and informative program was presented by Mr. Jim Langcuster, Media Specialist.


On Thursday, 18 August, 2005 at 6:30 P.M. CDT, The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held its Summer Quarter meeting at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama.

The meeting began with the "Dutch treat" dinner, followed by fellowship and election of officers. Gary Huffman was elected Camp Commander and Bill Huffman was elected Adjutant. Your support and input help maintain our distinction as one of the 10 oldest camps in the world!


On Thursday, May 26, 2005, The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held its regular quarterly meeting at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Social Gathering began at 6:00 PM and the Dinner at 6:30 PM.

Our two top Officers received well-deserved, prestigious recognition for their distinguished service. On Tuesday, February 8, 2005, The Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held its annual Lee/Jackson Heritage Banquet at The Cock-Of-The-Walk Restaurant in Opelika, Alabama. The Social Gathering began at 6:00 PM and the Dinner at 6:30 PM.

An outstanding program was presented by our guest speaker, Dwayne Cox, Head of Special Collections & Archives for Ralph B. Draughn Library at Auburn University.

We had the pleasure of being joined again this year by the Auburn and Opelika United Daughters of the Confederacy. Their presence contributed greatly to the success of the Banquet.


SCV Robert E. Lee Camp #16 held its Fall Quarter meeting on Tuesday 26 October 2004 at 6:30 PM at The Cock-Of-The-Walk in Opelika, Alabama.

The agenda for the meeting included the Presentation of a Confederate Grave Marker to Peter Branum, Director of Museum of East Alabama; Dinner; Fellowship and Guest Speaker, Allan Hinson. Allan is an Auburn University student from Greenville, a Marine Reservist and recently returned from Iraq.

Two new members were inducted. Our continued growth and support by members enable us to maintain our status as one of the 10 oldest camps in the world.


At the meeting, member Dallas Dorsey (left) presented a displaced Confederate Grave Marker to Peter Branum (right). Mr. Branum is Director of the Museum of East Alabama, who will preserve the marker and display it respectfully.

Marine Reserve Sgt. Allan Hinson (left), was guest speaker at the meeting. Sgt. Hinson told of his experiences in Iraq and gave a first hand assessment of the differences in the actual situation compared to the view that is frequently presented to us. Introducing Sgt.
