Iva Lucille Brown, age 91, of The Woodlands, Texas died Thursday, June 19, at Regent Care Center. She was born April 22, 1912 in Bradley County, Arkansas a daughter of the late Milton Pennington and Beulah Davis Pennington. She was a homemaker, a Presbyterian and the widow of Noel Clifton Brown who died November 6, 1974. Surviving is a daughter Nelda Bender and spouse Al, Malaysia; 1 sister Mary Frances Taylor, Center, Texas; 1 grandson Sean Bender, Malaysia; 1 great grandson Matthew Bender, Malaysia. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Lummye Joy Brown. Graveside services were 2:00 pm Monday, June 23, at Hickory Springs Cemetery with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. She was born August 14, 1924 at Warren, Arkansas a daughter of the late Lawrence Hughes and Lillian Brown Hughes. Surviving are 2 sons Stephen Brian and David Brian both of Mineral Wells, Texas; 1 daughter Barbara Brian, Lewisville, Texas; 1 sister Laverne Stafford, Holts Summit, Missouri; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A daughter Beverly Brian Skiles also preceded her in death. Graveside services were 10:00 am Monday, August 25, at Oakland Cemetery in Warren with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. James Daniel ďCottonĒ Denton age 70 of Banks, Arkansas died Thursday November 6, at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1933 in New Edinburg, Ark. a son of the late Willis Clinton Denton and Edna Sue Owens Denton. He was a Korean Army Veteran, a Roofer and a Church of Christ member. He is survived by 2 sons Daniel Denton, Sulpher, La. and Christopher Denton, Clinton, Ark.; 1 daughter Debbie Beard, Banks, Ark.; 3 brothers Edgar Denton, Curt Denton and Billy Denton all of Warren, Ark.; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Sue Denton. Funeral services were 4:00pm Saturday, November 8, at Frazerís Chapel by Rev Cecil Reed. Janice Sullivan was the organist. Mary Baldwin Hankins, age 93, of Little Rock, Arkansas died Sunday, November 2, at the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center @ Good Shepherd. Mary B. was born March 4, 1910 at Warren, Arkansas a daughter of the late John Rufus Starr Meek and Mary Lema Watson Meek. She received her education in the Warren Public School System and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Mary B. taught music in South Arkansas and North Louisiana and was church organist for First Presbyterian Church, Warren. Mary B. was a homemaker and a member of Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church. Mary B. married Edwin Hankins, Jr. on October 30, 1935 at Warren, Ark and he died November 30, 1985 after 50 years of marriage. Surviving is a son Edwin Hankins III, MD and spouse Sharon, Mayflower, Ark.; 2 daughters Ann Meek Hankins and spouse Jack Cole, New York City, NY and Kay Martin, Garland, Tex.; 1 sister Sarah Chenault and spouse Jack, Roland, Ark.; 5 grandchildren Rick Martin and spouse Ronda, Lampasas, Tex., Beth Ann Martin Mewbourn and spouse Don, Terrell, Tex., Jennifer Hankins Slump and spouse Steven, Independence, Mo., Amy Hankins Blanz and spouse Jeb, Fayetteville, Ark. and Edwin Hankins IV and spouse Christin, Fayetteville, Ark.; 5 great grandchildren Mackenzie Martin, Makayla Martin and Makenna Martin, Lampasas, Tex., Joseph Slump and Hannah Slump, Independence, Mo. Born June 29, 1917 in Cleveland County a son of the late Joseph Alonzo Thompson and Effie McFarland Thompson he was a retired Potlatch Corporation employee, a chicken farmer, member Fairview Freewill Baptist Church and the widower of Minnie Lee Dyer Thompson who died August 18, 2003. They were united in marriage December 14, 1940. Also, preceding him in death were a daughter Virginia Thompson Martin, 7 brothers Ebby Houston Thompson, Odis Lee Thompson, Doyle Thompson, Dick Thompson, Harley Thompson, Troy Thompson and Bud Thompson, a sister Ruby McClellan and 4 grandchildren. Hargis whom she married August 9, 1947 at Hermitage, Ark.; a daughter in law Daphne Hargis, Hermitage, Ark.; 2 brothers T.J. Norris, Angleton, Texas and Bobby Norris, Monticello, Ark.; 1 grandchild Jodi Michelle Hargis, Hermitage, Ark. And Amelia Sedberry, Warren, Ark.; paternal grandmother Myrtie Jean Sedberry, North Little Rock, Ark.; maternal grandfather and grandmother James Hays and Martha Hays, Warren, Ark.; paternal great-grandmother Dora Lawton, Warren, Ark. and a nephew Dustin Sedberry, Dodgeville, Wisc. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Merchant Marines, a retired medical technologist, a member of the Garnerville First United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Louis Priester Lodge #1150 F&AM, Dallas, Texas. Hammons and Columbia Christine Robertson Hammons he was a retired boilermaker, member Local # 69 in Little Rock, World War II Army veteran and the widower of Irene Muriel Jackson Hammons who died January 7, 1996. Born March 8, 1908 in Santuck, AR a daughter of the late John Fred Stuart and Mattie Lee Baker Stuart she was a retired beautician, member Hermitage Baptist Church and the widow of Clarence Caplinger who died October 6, 1967. Also preceding her in death was a son Charles Greenwood, brothers Vance Stuart and H.D. Stuart and a sister Ercel Wilson. Survivors are 2 sons John Fred Greenwood of Wichita Falls, Texas and Joe Ted Greenwood of Hermitage. 1 sister Euna Stansberry of Temple, Texas. 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Saturday December 6, at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Bob Meggs officiating. Paige Grider was organist. Burial was in Hickory Springs Cemetery near Hermitage by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Baker Peebles, Al Wilson, Carroll Stuart, Gale Stuart, John Jordan and Jason Morton. Turner and Myrtle Annie Lewis Turner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Light House Church. She married Thomas Harold York on February 2, 1946 and he died July 24, 1994. Pleasant, Ark., Vickie Belin, Pine Bluff, Ark. and Jennifer York, Pine Bluff, Ark.; 1 brother Jacob ďJakeĒ Turner, Naples, Fla.; 3 sisters Marie Skowronski, Little Rock, Ark., Eunice Parrott, Warren, Ark. and Ruby Holland, Benton, Ark.; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. 2 brothers Joe Turner and John Turner and a Ĺ sister Willie Graves also preceded her in death. Surviving is a brother Byron Hamilton, Hermitage, Ark.; a sister Susie Weatherly, Warren, Ark. 4 brothers William A. Hamilton, Troy Hamilton, Curtis Hamilton and Vernoy Hamilton and a sister Clarice H. Huitt, preceded her in death. Funeral services were 1:30 pm Thursday, December 11, at Frazerís Chapel by Rev. She was preceded in death by a son Jack Davis, a brother Sam ďRustyĒ Russell; 2 sisters Duffy Mae Yancy and Ophelia DeArmond. Surviving is a son Daniel Paul Woodward and spouse Pat, Central City, Ark.; 1 daughter Ann Dutcher and spouse Don, Boise, Idaho; 1 sister Joan Templeton, El Dorado, Ark.; 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. He was a retired employee of Southwestern Bell telephone Company with 39 years of service, a member of Cullendale First Baptist Church, a member of the Warren Lodge #33, F&AM and a member of the Pioneer Telephone workers of America. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He married Carolyn Martin on July 6, 1946 at Warren, Ark. and she died on December 14, 1997. Surviving is his wife Martha Temple Kulbeth Wolfe, Camden, Ark.; 2 sons James O.
