Unidentified Carroll County Arkansas Photos
Unknown School, 1894 with John Lee Pinegar.
would like to submit the attached picture. I do not know what school it is from, but I am sure it is 1894 and it is from Carroll County. My Grandfather, John Lee Pinegar, is in it. Kent Pinegar Fort Worth, TX
Thanks to Dani Hayhurst for identifying a few of the students in this photo.
Back row, second from left is Charley Carr, (He married Rosa Hayhurst in 1900, but I don't recognize Rosa - the photo is not that clear).
Back row, seventh from left is Julia Carr, wearing white ruffled collar
Second row, third form left, Bertha Carr wearing white ruffled collar
First row, second from right, Johnnie Carr, wearing big white collar
Dani says she recognized these people because they are wearing the same clothes as the Carr children in a photo for the book Carroll County Families, These were the First page 107. Johnnie Carr was born in 1893, so if this is him, and it looks like the same child, the school photo would have been taken later than 1894. The James K. Polk Carr family moved several times, but may have lived in the High community in the late 1890's period. In 1900, the family is listed on the Carroll County census living in the Polo community, north of Berryville.
In the 1900 Carroll County census, Polo township, John Lee Pinegar is listed as being 10 years old, son of William and Mary Pinegar, the next listing after the James K. Carr family.
. Contact Fleta if you can identify anyone in the photo.
