        The sick child of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Todd is not expected to live.

        Misses Nora and Grace Oliver spent the holidays with home folk.

        Health is not quite as good as usual; there is some grippe in the community.

        James Quigley has been very sick for some time; but is some better at present.

        Grandma Pryer died and was buried at the Packard cemetery. She was quite old and died of consumption.

        Pet Packark, who was raised in this vicinity, committed suicide a few weeks ago near Rogers, by drinking carbolic acid.

        Martin Weatherman and Misses Olive and Almeda Weatherman, are visiting their sister, Mrs. Nancy E. Heins, at Pea Ridge.

        Frank Howerton is working for W. B. Wright this month.

        Miss Belle Howerton received a pretty gold band ring Christmas.

        Miss Pearl Stanlee and Mr. Ura married at the home of the bride, Dec. 22nd.

        The home of Jim Vanderpool was destroyed by fire, Dec. 23rd. The cause is unknown.

        Miss Belle Howerton and brother visited friends in Pina, Christmas, returning home Sunday.

        Thomas Coleman, of Iola, Mo., is visiting friends near Grand View. He will lecture at White Elm school house, Wednesday.

        George Bradley and Miss Pearl Edmundson, of Grandview, were married at Berryville, Saturday. They will make their home in Grand View.
