Wilson Cemetery

Faulkner County, Arkansas

Submitted by Sondra Johnson

This is a small cemetery located off Highway 225 about 7 miles east of Greenbrier.  In 1980, it was surveyed by Harley and Dora Henderson and Vivian Johnson of the Faulkner County Historical Society.  There are 37 legible markers and approximately 20 to 25 graves marked with fieldstones.  In the large concrete slab is a hand-etched concrete marker that reads “Walls by Mollie.”  There are also two rock wall enclosures about 3 feet high which presumably contain graves.  The concrete marker for Francis McCrackin was written on three lines:  “Francis,” “McCrac,” and “kin,” leading the 1980 surveyers to believe it was the grave of Francis “McCray.”  Wilson Cemetery was surveyed and photographed on November 8, 2002, by Glenna Shumate and Sondra Johnson. – Cemetery Photo
