McDougal History...
From left: Dennis Gregory, Bulah Pendergrass, Alex Sanders, Nellie Gaylean, Paul Griffin, Virgie Pendergrass (mother of Henry Foiles), Less Bradshaw, Binnie Hutchison (half hidden behind Less Bradshaw), Birdie (Benson) Birchett, Ode Hadden, Lattie Summers, George Birchett and Charlie Gaylean. These folks from McDougal are riding on an old log wagon being pulled by a team of oxen and are on their way to what was known in 1913 as "Black River Church," located off Highway 62 at McDougal. This church was located south of the highway from the Tipperary exit, then about one mile after turning off the road veered to the left onto another road. The church was located on the land later known as the Neely Farm. (Photo and information compliments of Thelma (Hopkins) Hommel.)
