Recently discovered that my grandmother, Annie Lee LOWE RAY, was raised in Monette, AR. Annie was born in DeSoto Co., MS to Jesse James LOWE and Nola HILL. Jesse was killed during a train robbery. Annie and her siblings, Beatrice and William Bryan, wound up in NE Arkansas. I now believe that Nola HILL had relatives in Monette that they went to live with. My aunt says that she remembers an Uncle Tom HILL who lived in Lepanto. William LOWE married Ruby WILLIAMS and are both buried in Garden Point Cemetery. Beatrice married Frank FRANCHESKI.They were both killed in an auto accident near Jonesboro in the 1970's. Annie married Robert M. RAY. Robert died in 1938 and is buried in an unmarked grave in Mangrum Cemetery. Annie married Cletus ESTERLINE after the death of Robert. Annie died and is buried in Pine Log Cemetery. Other surnames associated with my family from the Craighead- Poinsett County area include BOX, HENSON, HUDSON,and ROSE. Any info related to these names would be greatly appreciated. Especially intrested in learning if Nola HILL is buried in Monette, though I fear she may have remarried and buried under a different surname. Thanks, Randy Ray Ozark,Alabama

I have recently found a branch of my JENNINGS family living in Craighead Co. in 1916, and I don't know if any of them might still be in the area. Cyrus K. JENNINGS (brother to my ancestor) died in Nettleton, Arkansas in 1916, and was buried in Nettleton cemetery. He had just moved there three months before to live with his son Lewis M. JENNINGS. I am trying to trace my family tree. On my dad's side I know that Vincent "Henry" MILLER was my grandfather. He was City Marshall of Monette. Ben MILLER was his Uncle, he was mayor of Jonesboro, I believe back in the sixties. I found my grandmother Luc MILLER in the Upper Cane Island Cemetery list. She was born July 13, 1882 and died April 1, 1916. I thought her name was Lulu, but the cemetery records showed first name of Luc. Her maiden name was THOMAS. On my mothers side, I know only my grandfather was James RICHIE and my grandmother was Easter McFARLIN. She had a brother Berry McFARLIN who lived in Jonesboro also in the sixties. The names I'm looking for are MILLER, McFARLIN, RICHIE, & THOMAS. I have two brothers and a sister, died as infants in the thirties buried somewhere around Monette. I need the names of cemeteries also.
