CASADAY posted by David Anderson on Friday, January 17, 1997: I am looking for any info on my Great-grandfather James W. CASADAY. Who moved from Mississippi to Etowah,AR. around 1920-23. His wife Was Amillie Lowrimore CASADAY. They had several children and were said to have 40 acres of land in this county. I can tell you that his dob is approximately 12/27/1883 and death 08/29/1963. I have had problems going any futher with this family line.

My grandmother moved from the state of Mississippi to Mississippi Co. Ar. probably around 1923-27. My father stated that they cleared "forty acres of new ground" in Etowah Ar. around that time. ROSE posted by Carol LaPorte on Saturday, January 25, 1997: Am researching John Mathew ROSE, born in Greene County, Arkansas on October 21, 1840. His mother's name was Elizabeth (?) Rose, father unknown at present. His mother married Jacob Friend in Scott County, Missouri in 1849. John Mathew Rose, usually called Mathew ROSE or Matt ROSE, appears on the 1850 Federal Census for Scott County, Missouri living with Jacob and Elizabeth Friend. He lived his entire life in Scott County, Missouri, dying of February 4, 1911 and is buried in Anderson Cemetery, Commerce, Missouri. I'd like to find out who Mathew's father was, what was his mother's (Elizabeth) maiden name was, and any other birth information.

She married William A. CHILDERS in 1897 and they were living in Hattieville (Conway County) in 1915. Her obituary (1938) stated that her brother, J.A. LaFarlette, lived in Manila, near Blytheville (Mississippi County). I believe that her brother had a son named Burle. I have traced their father, (J). Albert LAFARLETTE to Marion County in the 1880's. Any info on this family will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!
